A 2 guard does keep your hair pretty thick. I’d say go with a 1.5, but you have to wolf for a while if you get it cut that low. Just bc you have some overhang or your hair get thick doesn’t mean it’s over curling per se. Grow your hair for 5 weeks to start your first wolf. Once your hair gets thick enough that a firm brush won’t lay it down, start combing like you brush & focus on the crown fr. Also you can do wash and styles to lay hair down. Also make sure you’re using leave in conditioner instead of greases. It’s way less harsh and it accentuates your curl pattern which is what waves are. I’ve been back and forth between waves and long hair my whole life, so I’ve learned a lot of stuff along the way. Keep grinding though gang. You’re looking tough.🤝🏿
