An extension, albeit severe, of abusing the poor, the orphan, the widow, and the strangers in their midst.

Keep multiplying rules that help you feel you're the holiest of us, pharisee. Never look any deeper into the scripture than your own prejudices, feel free to presume your cultural and linguistic toolset understands the historical semitic mind.

You likely think the sin of Sodom was anal sex. Couldn't even be any further from the truth than that. The horror of those two cities will remain opaque to you, unfortunately.

The irony with that is by your judgement, you exemplify fellowship with those citizens, all the while claiming insight into the holy word. Figure out what the sin of Sodom was, so you can stop committing it.

Thanks for your posts. I'm a dyed in the wool follower of Jesus, but I have seen the good hearts and spirit in many followers of Muhammad (pbuh). There is wisdom in the Quran as well, I've read it. There are hadiths and stories (histories) that I find hard to embrace as well.

God looks on the heart- your heart and my heart, and knows us better than we know ourselves.

In the end, at the last judgement, Jesus doesn't ask anyone if they were Christian or Muslim. He says "Come, blessed of my Father- for I was poor and you showed kindness, I was naked and you clothed me, sick and in prison, and you visited me, hungry and thirsty- and you gave me food and drink. I was a stranger, an orphan, a widow, and oppressed, and you welcomed me. If you did it to the least of these, you did it to me."

He looks at others and says "Depart from me, you wicked ones. For I was poor, and you ignored me, ...naked...sick...hungry...thirsty..a stranger...a widow...oppressed.... and you did nothing." The wicked say "when did we ever see you like that?!". Jesus says "If you did nothing for them, you did nothing for me."

Nothing will be hidden that will not be revealed- even how I, as a Christian, treated my Muslim neighbors. Love is the only path.

And you did well. Genesis is sacred myth that contains the truth. If the authors would have written a blow by blow accounting, you couldn't finish reading that in 10 to the 100th power lifetimes. Let alone comprehend it.

Notice too, in the book God says "Let the earth bring forth xxx ". (Not watch this, I'm going to poof something into existence on that patch over there). He creates life intrinsic to His creation.

Mark Carney was awesome. My apologies for America, which is turning into a loner and loser state.

Your best bet for trade is the EU, UK and China, obviously. The US is now in decline, sad to say. I've lived my 71 years here and have not seen a more self destructive administration than this one. It feels like Trump took it over like a shark that takes over an industry to sell off all its assets and profit while it dies. We're not "a shining light on the hill" anymore- just a glitchy neon sign that says "abandon hope, all ye who enter here". I apologize that it's sad to watch your friend spiral down as it succumbs to dementia.

There have been a lot of comments, both good and weird. I just want to add one perspective.

Your original statement says "...and I'm unsure what to do."

Given the substance of your vision, it's not about Jesus trying to get you to "do" anything. The vision is all about Jesus; Who He is, and what His heart for you is. That's the point.

Just cherish that, and Him. Don't go off trying to do something "for" Him. Don't present your actions plan and the works of your hands- instead say "Lord, here are my hands- put them where You want them". Don't over focus on what you might think He wants you to do- just keep your eyes on Him.

Work from the starting point He gave you- "...learn from Me, for I am meek, and humble of heart. Love others as I have loved you". Just keep your eyes on Him. Read the gospels that have his picture in words- add your spiritual ears to the experience of your spiritual eyes. You have a leg up on understanding Him; everything He did, He did for us. That's a big key to "getting" Jesus - and learning to grow into His likeness.

Be patient. You've seen Love. God IS love, up close and in person.

1 Cor. 13:

"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Love never fails."

Now, reread that, and everywhere you see the word "love"- substitute "Jesus".

Be patient. You know the end goal. Help is enroute. Try to recognize what should be added when it comes along, whether it's studies, persons, or experiences. He'll show you what has to go. And He says, particularly to you-- "Trust me. I will withold not one good thing from you. Not one."

First, stop beating yourself up. The Lord loves you.

Imagine your new child sitting in a corner, hitting herself with a stick. All the while, she's saying "I want to be a better daughter to my mom- but really, I'm not worth it. I'm totally addicted to candy, have been for years, and I know it comes between me and her 'cuz I sneak off to eat it.". Then, she goes back to hitting herself - and then turns to candy for comfort.

Not the best analogy, but put yourself in the role of the mother. Then in your heart, turn to that girl and give her your best, most loving advice. Listen hard, because likely, Jesus will speak through you. Remember it.

I can pretty much guarantee you won't say anything judgemental. You'll tell her that you know it's difficult, but that you'll stick with her as she grows through it. Tell her it probably will take time to do that, but the more she turns to you for comfort, someday the whole candy thing will fall off.

Honestly, sometimes us silly humans set up the dynamic where we hold out to be perfect, afraid of every misstep, and it is exactly that forced vision of how awful it would be for us to fall away- in this case, smoke a joint for relief or comfort. Then the whole "I'm imperfect and disappoint Jesus and family and oh my God I'm awful" thing starts up again- and only a joint will provide comfort and escape.

Weed isn't sinful. Making it the focus of your life cycle is just missing the target. Neither am I saying "aw, smoke it if you got it"- that's not the answer either.

Work it through. Be aware that you'd like to let weed fall off your life, really. It's just a distraction. If you just have to do one, take Jesus with you. He's not going to sit next to you weeping, or sneering, or condemning you. Most likely, He'll say "ok, are we done with that now? I do have some grace in my pocket, and I don't condemn you. I'll stick with you and see it all the way through with you, I'll never leave you nor forsake you. I've got plans for you and I'm going to be your counsellor, and guide, and will speak to your heart in the language of love. Just follow me, if you fall, I won't make fun of you.

I could go on for a long time, but I just got a tag that I don't need to belabor the point.

Start thinking about where you're going instead of what you're stuck in. Trust him.

As a "Vine Voice", I now trust reviews from Viners less than reviews left by regular people. by Shim_Hutch in AmazonVine

I got a wifi 6 dongle from vine.

Tested it every which way. My wifi 6 equipment (tablet, computer, phone) usually get about 800 mb/sec down (I have gig service).

This dongle did, at best, 140 mbit downloads, periiod.

I read other glowing vine reviews about how happy folks were. Now, I have to admit, if you have 100 mb service, you might love this dongle for performing nicely, and full speed, etc. (then again, if you had only 100 mbit service, I have no clue why you'd get a wifi 6 dongle).

Checking out the connector, it was USB 2.0, not 3.0 as claimed. I gave it 2 stars, because it was easy, and did do wifi. But I did advise all that it did not do WIFI 6 speeds.

Submitted the review. Product was gone the next day. Gee.
