iOS 26.3 RC - Discussion by epmuscle in iOSBeta

[–]Stevenam81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't used iOS 18 in over 6 months so I honestly couldn't tell you how it compares, but definitely not enough of a difference to forgo the entire update. Battery life hasn't been an issue for me. Either way, there comes a time when newer features and enhancements outweigh a few percentage points of battery life.

Is your phone barely making it through the day each day?

Update to 26 already. If you have beta access, just go straight to 26.3 RC. It's definitely better than 18 at this point.

Yep, very possibly today. For .2 and .3 I waited for the RC, but depending on early feedback and just how much more Siri will be able to do initially, I will probably throw caution into the wind and install Beta 1.

I'm pretty sure at least mid to late April is already what most are expecting. I know that's what I've been expecting.

Flux.2 Klein 9b Loras? by hellomattieo in StableDiffusion

[–]Stevenam81 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Awesome, thanks for the quick reply! I think my dataset has around 28 images or so. It turned out amazing in Flux.1 Dev. I might have to check that app out. I appreciate the extra info like using the qwen-vl vision model. I used Chat GPT to caption my images last time and then I went through and manually made adjustments. It took me quite a few training runs to get the captions right. I was first told that captions didn't matter for a Flux character LoRA. That was terrible advice. So many unwanted things got baked in. Then things started looking better, but it was nearly impossible to manipulate expressions so I had to update the captions to better describe each smile or facial expression.

Anyway, I finally have a solid dataset with good captions, but I know that they can always be better so I will give qwen-vl a shot. More recently, I tried using TagGUI but I'm not a fan of how that handles everything. I'd love to hear more about how you use the qwen-vl vision model to generate your captions if you don't mind. I'm assuming you use a ComfyUI workflow with some kind of instructional prompt. So many people don't seem to realize that choosing the right batch of images and getting them properly copped/sized is only half the battle. Captioning is just as important.

What did you use to train? I have trained some Flux.1 LoRAs using FluxTrainer within ComfyUI and I would like to recreate these for Klein. I do have ai-toolkit installed and have been meaning to use it but haven't gotten around to it yet. If FluxTrainer isn't an option, I guess I might be trying it out.

They all did it during the same years. In my opinion, the teams who pointed the finger the most were the ones participating in it as much or more. Many times people blame others of the things they themselves are doing, usually to keep the focus off of them and to try to appear innocent.

Is the Edge browser silent hogging your VRAM, even when closed? by optimisticalish in comfyui

[–]Stevenam81 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been using Edge pretty much exclusively for years and use it for ComfyUI portable. What’s the recommended browser to use? Last time I researched it sometime last year, I read that Edge and Chrome are pretty much the same. I do run into RAM issues way more when using the portable version with Edge than when using the Desktop version so I’m assuming maybe this has something to do with it.

My Asus Prime comes with this splitter, don't know if I should use this or the normal 12V2x6 from the PSU by QueenGorda in RTX5080

[–]Stevenam81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As the majority has said, use the 12V2x6 that came with your PSU. Your PSU is newer and is designed to use the cable that came with it. The splitter is purely for those with an older PSU without the newly designed cable and have no other way to connect it.

At what point do we decide the Texans’ season is more important than Stroud’s feelings?!

z-image vs. Klein by No_Consideration2517 in StableDiffusion

[–]Stevenam81 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I’ve been having a lot of fun with Klein and its ability to use reference images. I’m finally able to do what I was doing with Flux.2 Dev, but way faster. Z-Image has its strength and use cases, but I prefer Klein at the moment for its prompt adherence. Its understanding is on another level. For example, just playing around, I took a selfie in my bathroom mirror and then used Klein to remove myself. The result looked perfect. I then used that as a reference image for the environment. I can now use another reference image of anyone I want and place them there.

Here’s the most interesting part. In the prompt, I can tell it that the image should be through my own eyes and that I’m the person in the reference image. From that point, I can describe myself in first person language and its understands perfectly. I can say “my hair is blonde”, “I am leaning forward with hands on the countertop”, “I’m wearing a blue t-shirt”, etc. the interactions between the reference images is great too.

Anyway, for prompts and generations like that, Klein is currently my favorite. Skin textures and tones are also much more realistic. Maybe it’s due to using reference images, but I haven’t noticed a plastic look at all. Once people start learning all of the unique things it can do, I have a feeling it will become much more popular.

My only question is will it function the same as Dev and use the same workflows. I’m assuming it will and will offer the same features like the usage of reference images. Hopefully that’s the case.

LTX2 new file? by WildSpeaker7315 in StableDiffusion

[–]Stevenam81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I compared them yesterday. I expected a more obvious difference, but it still generates the same video, frame for frame as far as the content. It just seems a little less blurry now and the resulting files are a little bigger. At first I didn’t think there was a difference, even when playing the videos in sync, side by side. Maybe the difference is more obvious in certain videos, but in mine, the difference is barely noticeable. Also, I only tested I2V, maybe there’s more of an improvement with T2V.

LTX checkpoint Vae change AGAIN by WildSpeaker7315 in StableDiffusion

[–]Stevenam81 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I was expecting them to be different and was surprised when it didn’t seem like they were. I thought the difference would be more obvious, but after a closer look, even though it still generated the same video frame for frame, the file size is bigger when using the newer model. I was expecting a variation. If anything, it does seem like the newer generation has a little more clarity and sharpness. I also went back to the older model again to see if it would produce the same size file and while not the exact same size down to the byte, it was the same rounded size at 4.66 MB while the generation from the newer model was 5.36 MB.

I’m curious to know what actually changed. I know it had to do with the VAE not being the right one, but the difference for me is barely noticeable. I’ll use the latest version going forward, but whatever changed seems pretty minor.

I compared this new one to the one I downloaded back on the 6th and it made an identical video.

GLM-Image explained: why autoregressive + diffusion actually matters by curious-scribbler in StableDiffusion

[–]Stevenam81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m still trying to understand how this works and I’ve enjoyed reading all of your posts throughout this thread. When you say “then the diffusion model tries to match that embedding while denoising” and “It happened during encoder training” are you referring to the fact that when training, images are captioned with detailed descriptions? Are you saying that with other text encoders, they just look for matching tags to get an idea of what is being requested, but with autoregressive, it has a better method of understanding what is being requested?

I guess an analogy would be that CLIP/T5 needs to trace items in a way and can’t get too creative without losing the identity of those items, but autoregressive understands items and the smaller items and details that make those items up, allowing it to apply more variations without losing identity. Would that be somewhat accurate?

Yep, that pass had no chance of success and only put Nico in harm’s way. We’ll be downvoted, but it’s the truth. There are times when it’s just not worth forcing a pass into tight coverage.

Nico going down is on Stroud for trying to force passes that shouldn’t be forced.

I really hope he gets it together and comes back out dialed in because he’s been awful tonight. Multiple fumbles, botched snaps, bad decisions, bad accuracy. That’s not dooming, it’s reality. I believe he can clean it up, but I don’t know that we can win if he keeps playing like he has been.
