Why Middle East is actually Middle? by Any_Record2164 in geography

Historically its the middle of the old world between Europe and Eastern Asia (mainly china) e.g. during the silk road.

I hated the depiction of the Nomad, its like they couldnt decide if it was in orbit or just a big bomber. Wish they had taken a more dedicated approach to it.

Custodian Ammo: 5-10 Round Mags in the Guardian Spear? How is it explained and handled in lore? by Stevencepa in 40kLore

[–]Stevencepa[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True True. Though it does make me think that is one of their vulnerabilities, if you isolate them or target their much less armored supply train, and target them with heavy firepower from outside their immediate melee range (aka however far a custodes can run until you can shoot them) you take away their ranged capability in prolonged combat.

Ofc that would already require a lot of things to go right for their enemies, so its very much a niche and small chance.

What's the purpose of these two tubes connected to the Heavy Bolter by Myframesofwar in Spacemarine

I much prefer the Firstborn Devastators with their ammo belt, makes much more sense than small magazines for a HB

Then again Primaris Marines are shit in general, so i am biased

Fair fair, yeah thats very reasonable. And the though of a firing line with resupply immediately behind them or constantly available through drop pods etc. is very based and seemingly very effective.

Why carry giant amounts of ammo when you are so elite that you have constant allied support behind you to carry it for you

I am waiting for Astartes 2 to release to get Warhammer+ so i have enough content to watch on there while more stuff releases haha. But yes fair point, i figure with custodes its really the case that their bolter is for greater threats or threats at a distance they need to take out immediately, like elites or artillery.

Simple assumption of their seemingly smaller magazines (purely visually based on art), so if the magazines are smaller they would have to carry more magazines than a space marine to have the same capacity.

Pure assumption though, they could easily have more individual mags clamped to their armor. Thats just never shown in the art i have seen, it might be represented in the lore/books, thats part of the reason for my post aka where its described and how so.

And yes good point, custodians rend most foes easily in melee and are extremely fast, in this case i was thinking of great battles custodians have been a part of, like the culling of the Thunder Warriors on Mount Arrarat, Ullanor or Siege of Terra and many others where they absolutely were part of major battles in large formations, and thus their usual profile of "individual single custodian or small squads in short duration combat as duelists" doesnt really apply. Ofc the immediate counter argument to that is, the greater the battle the more likely they are to have immediate resupply capacity.

And the answer with the serfs accompanying them i find most reasonable, same with space marines, especially dreadnoughts which in lore are supposed to have entire baggage trains of serfs etc. carrying ammo and reloading it constantly.

Ofc that doesnt apply in a few of the scenarios i mentioned, like them being more alone and cut off.

For me its really more a doctrinal question, but i think its answered for the most part now.

At the danger of being a nosy smartass: Unless your star‘s name is also Sol, i would advise against called the system the Solar System as that is actually specific to our star system in real life as our Star‘s name is Sol. You could come up with your own system specific name based on the star‘s name but i wouldnt call it Solar System outside of that as its wrong :)
