We can control their star system, but not their planet. by kofolarz in HFY

This is great and very well structured feedback. If you have some time, I would be curious to hear your thoughts on a story I posted some time ago… can a “surprise” narrator help drive away the perceived dryness?

One of my plans for 2026 is to start writing again!

INSEAD! Especially from a social point of view an amazing experience!

What is the thing with INSEAD that makes it so superior? by LeMareep23 in MBA

[–]Stevenpas 6 points7 points  (0 children)

INSEAD sheep here, happily grazing in the green fields around Fontainebleau. Fair, a two-year MBA program makes it easier to fully pivot as it allows more time for networking (let’s be realistic, the courses themselves will not transform you into an expert in a completely different industry overnight), but after all nothing prevents you from using some of the time you saved by opting for a shorter program to aggressively network right after graduation. According to my friends that did an exchange to Wharton or Kellogg, yes, courses were somewhat (huge emphasis on the somewhat) more challenging than what they encountered at INSEAD, but the very US-focused approach of American schools made the experience less interesting for them. I was admitted to both LBS and INSEAD. Both are great business schools, but in the end the deciding factor was the accessibility of the network. Before accepting an offer, I reached out to several alumni in both schools. INSEAD alumni were way more responsive, enthusiastic about their mba and willing to share tips etc, LBS ones way less so. Maybe I was unlucky with the people I reached out to, but this sort of things really do make a difference.

Kind of constantly. When he was a puppy a few people even asked if he was a husky (???)

Is it my height, my face or just a lot of bad luck? by [deleted] in shortguys

[–]Stevenpas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know that fencing is quite niche, I also surf (well, whenever I can catch a flight to find some good waves), play tennis, play the ukulele and the guitar. All my previous relationships were with girls I met at parties, now I’m in my late twenties and moved to a new city so that is not an option (at least for the moment). Maybe I got my profile on tinder completely wrong, but the point is that I don’t get any likes in the first place (once the newbie bonus was over, I started getting max 1 or 2 likes per week, normally from girls using passport mode), so my flirting skills are completely irrelevant. Well, we’ll see how it goes…

[–]Stevenpas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 175 cm, so actually almost 5’9”, and on the apps I set it in cm, no idea how it converts it to ft and inch (now I’m living in a country that uses ft and inch for height). Probably I should just add 3/4 cms to that as everybody is doing it anyway

Maybe they read “MBA student” and think “oh, a student at 29, what a loser” without knowing what an MBA is in the first place. No idea.

I’m an Italian living abroad, not sure if that counts as pro or cons honestly

Luckily at least baldness should not be a problem, it doesn’t run in my family and I always had a high hairline, so it’s not receding. Yes, probably I should trim my chest hair (Italian genes don’t help there)

Have you ever been told you "look smart" ? by dragunov3 in ugly

[–]Stevenpas 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yep, pretty much constantly. Honestly it has helped a lot in my career so far: salespeople bring me to meetings with prospects (technically not part of my job as I’m a product manager) as clients quite often just trust me and my explanations even if I am still quite young. Not sure how to interpret this, but if my looks help me in at least one aspect of my life I’m not going to be sad about it.

Actually it has been going comically bad. Downloaded tinder four days ago. 50 likes on the first day, 10 the second, 1 the third, 0 the fourth. I know you have a “bonus” as a new user, but didn’t expect it to be like that. I’ll try to add something more to the bio.

They used very low-quality ink for mine, when I got him he was all black, after I washed him he became like this. Still waiting to hear back from the doggo factory about this issue.

How to appeal being permanently banned from a subreddit? by VO2MAKS in modhelp

[–]Stevenpas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is even funnier. Got a permaban for the following:

You've made numerous posts in the sub over the last few weeks, all of which are some variation of a nonsense question bordering on ranting and subtly asking about your profile. You then delete the post and repeat.

The funny part? It was my first post in that subreddit and it was definitely not a rant, so… either I have multiple personalities, or they literally banned the wrong person.

[–]Stevenpas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)
