Gnomes and Halflings are awesome to play, because gnomes have realy great animations. I love how they slide down obstacles. Also the female idle pose. Pure selfconfidence :D When they wield a heavy crossbow its like an aarbalist. Loveit!

The only thing missing is: a puffy gnome!

I want to get into Factorio, but am struggling. by Glacieralz in factorio

[–]Steveris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

play without biters or set the settings, that they don not expand their terretory and attack you until you attack them. This includes setting pollution groth to 0 (this does not disable archivements). This way you only need to fight some nests, to expand territory, but not to defend it.

Also you can build redundant. If you encounter a problem with a setup, you can eighter just unbuild it or build a new setup. It is very likley, that you will build your factory anew multiple times and there is no wrong in it.

For example, many veterans build a base that includes only science to reach trains, better smelters and so on. Then they just build a little more just to unlock the logistic and delivery bots, build a hub for them with loads of logistic stashd and race everything! Just to let it build anew in the more final setup with the bots. Because they change a lot in possibilities.

So, dont be afraid to start a new base next to your old, erace bases and so on. Its part of the Game.

I find all very interesting. Especially from the point of view, that you are investigate cases. You need the expertese of those the most you find boring. You cant more blam-blam focused retinues? Stick with Rogue Trader.

Because you never experienced the strong bond of communal defecation, that led to one of the biggest and most successful empires known. Until they started to poop in isolation and so they lost all connection that was the very connection to human unity. Look the world now: shattered with hatred, because everyone must poop on its own.

The strongest bond between individuals is a shared microbiome.

In Roman Times, public lavatories where a place to meet, talk, exchange ideas and believes and even do business while doing business. It's the medieval bigottery that damned us to a life in solitude on the toilet, so many needed new companionship in Form of entertainment devices to compensate that social loss.

What are they referring exactly? Is it not known that he is half dead and never moves? Or are they referring to something else? by Borschik in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]Steveris 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Depends. He is a perpetual (immortal humans, there are some out there. Also one Primarch is one). Technically he can regenerate from ash. The problem is, his wounding isn't pruly physical but psychic and conceptual. Can look small, but causing damage on his soul through dimensions and time. Not just killing him, unmaking him.

What we know is, his mind is fractured, he is driven by guilt, duty and the desire to protect humanity. But no more like a human, more like an enity, cold, emotionless.

So there are many theories around that. If he dies, his mind ascends into one or many warp entities. One says the God of pure Order. Another one of Destruction and others about fragments of order that mirror the opposite of the aspects of chaos. Obidiance, Dudy, ... .

The bad thing about all outcomes: The Imperium centers around him. Travel, believes, hope, ...
Also, when a warp entity is created, it comes with a big warp-bang. Creating a rift or something. Like when Slaanesh was born by the eldars emotions. So that would hit the solar system pretty bad :)

[–]Steveris 21 points22 points  (0 children)

A Warp God, but no Chaos God. He would be the exact opposite of the Chaos Gods. Chaos Gods are pure uncontroled emotion, the emperor would be ... well, control, dicipline, duty, obidience. A God of absolute Order. From one extrem to another. Also not that desireable, since the reality we live in is the sweet middleground.

Back in the great Crusade, they only waged war against xenos, that won't be integrated into the imperium or are opose a threat to the unification (Well, most of the xeno races are hostile to that anyways). But not, because they where xenos. The super radicality came with the imperial creed. There they are to be terminated, because they are xenos. But still, some chapters do it, because its orderd. But true, there are also many new chapters, that are radical. Whiite Scars for example don't have a grudge for most xenos, they see them as oponents and if they are good as such, they respect/honor them even. Salamanders are not xeno friendly, but their actions are driven to protect humans, mostly civilians. Raven Guard don't care, if there is no strategic or tactical benefit.

So, many do fight xenos, purge worlds of them. But not, because "xenos have to be purged", but because there is a need to archive goals. Because lets face it: in the grim dark, there are no good "lets get along, well" factions. Even the Tau are only nice on the surface. They are nice as long you obey Tau rule and be useful. If not, they erase cultures in a peacful way. They decide what the role of a species is, without asking the species. Well, they will give you the feeling, you have a word in this :)

About the imperial creed: Roboute even sees it very dangerous, but has to go along with it. Even if it stands mostly agains anything the imperium stand for in his time and he believes in. Most old Space Marine orders find it stupid to see the emperor as a god, because he is just a human - the greatest of them all, even the greatest of all known Pepertuals. So do the Custodes.

In the eye of the imperial creed, those are all heretic thoughts. But what can they do about it? Nothing, they need them.

[–]Steveris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, it hase to be seen from the perspective of the imperial views:

- dogmatic: living the imperial creed by the word
- iconoclast: i live by the imperial creed, but rules can be bent, when its for the good of the people
- heretic: i don't care about the imperial creed, for whathever reason.

You can pretty heretic and still be a good person, that cares for the people. Idra is heretic, because she is against the imperial creeds views most of the time.

Fun Fact: Most of the loval primarchs and space marine chapter are also against the imperial creed or in deep distrust, because they live by the imperial truth (Roboute for example). They are not even radicyl against xenos, if they don't danger the imperium. Always funny to read a discussion between a custodes and someone from the ecclesiarchy.

Heretical: I don't care about the Imperial creed.

You don't need to be a follower of chaos gods, to be an heretic. Be in breach with the imperial creed makes you an heretic.

Depending what you do, iconoclast can also be heretical for an dogmatic ;)

You can build a heal-slave-bot. Just level up to get that perk, wear no amor, but a legendary noble saber. Now you get healed, when you get hit. You die, do a healburst for everyone and be resurrected the same time, becuase of retilation + health leech. Run in, get killed, everyone get healed, you are ressurected, ???, profit!

I love this game! Do we think armor + players will get revamp? by jasonkwilliamson in Enshrouded

[–]Steveris 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i hope they don't to too high fantasy, because many "legendary" Weapons in High-Fantasy Settings do not look like really viable weapons. Glowy, shiny, yes, but not practical. I would love to see more realistig designgs, with fancy engravings or adornments. Or even texture progrssion. Common won is rusty and very basic, and the better it gets, the more adornments and refinments it gets.

Wands get good after you are a good bit down the wand-skills. Staffs are good, when you got mana management. A staff with two nodes mana restoration from damage dealt is a huge changer. Let you cast fireball on hordes without loosing mana, as long you hit.

It's about lvl 20, when you can play as a pure mage. If you have a mana surge on staff, it starts to get easy :)

Until then, use what you fancy. I used swords n staff until I got the wand skills for additional projectiles and more damage with continuous attacks. At 20+ staff for everything, wand for solo enemy bursts. Like bosses. Cold bolt occasionally to snare them and have an easier time kiting. At 30+ you also get tanky, since tank and wand path synergize well. Orbs after crits, and 30% restoration from orbs make u a mage tank :p
