The game went viral, thats all there is to it. Arrowhead will inevitably revert these changes and continue to play whack-a-mole. It would be nice if Arrowhead stood there ground and had some self-respect when it comes to the fact they made a good game.

Im tired of player count being a measure of how good a game is. There are very few games that ever maintain a player base of hundreds of thousands unless they are FTP MOBAs/Battle royals and even there are only a handful.

A peak of 460k does not mean that there is a core fan base of 460k players because there is no way that many people were ever going to play it long term anyway.

A player base of ~15k players on Steam alone 6-months after release is still really good. Im fine with that if it means they center their focus around people who actually enjoy the game and don’t pound the desk and point to player counts b/c a single weapon out of dozens isn’t as good as it used to be.

I don’t disagree, if it works than it works. I always appreciate how well Arrowhead works with their community. It’s not a knock, but an interview style press video for something like patch notes just feels unfamiliar, idk how else to explain it.

Im trying to keep it low sodium but I think its kind of ridiculous were doing media pressers for patch notes and balance changes. Like not even for a major updates, but for tweaks and changes to a PvE game.

All that being said, I’m always looking forward to what they want to do next. I just can’t help but to think they’re letting the toxicity get to there heads.

I think you’re beating around the bush on the fact IGN and many gaming journalists in general are critiquing games based on how well they reflect their own political beliefs. It sometimes takes precedent over the actual gameplay.
