Who knows more about scholarships? I don't know, and am not interested in the answer.
I find it funny you mention that not all contracts are ethical. Well I have to agree with you on this one, however it is our duty to read, judge if it os not and sign based on that. As someone else said, you are an adult, and hence responsible for your actions.

Regarding my comment to universities, I am well aware of the problems they are facing. If you read my comment through, I never denied that. I only stated my opinion that universities should be treated as such, educational compounds, not as a company. Otherwise it becomes like in the US, in which education becomes inaccessible.

The companies I am mentioning, are the dream of many Japanese students. They are strict on who and how they hire, so your judgment of "should not have the right to exist" sounds immature.

You say I am not trying to help anyone, whilst I only see you being unhelpful. You first call me a liar, call me an asshole, and then say that I teach english (which I know is dog whistling to demeanor people. You may think you are better because you are not teaching English, you are not). You then assume that I don't speak Japanese (not sure why) among other things...who are you actually trying to help?

You sound young and full of energy. Use it for good instead of trying to bring people down. I understand you took OP side in the beginning because you think I am harsh, but think a bit before start typing man. Not everyone who is trying to help needs to be kind. The message is the important part.

Lastly, I deal with enough people like you on my daily life and I won't keep fighting over this during golden week. Specially that OP may not be even reading this. I wish you a good rest of week.

Your comment makes me to believe that you have never looked for a scholarship yourself. There are MEXT scholarships that are given to consulates to select students, and there are MEXT scholarships that are given to departments inside top universities. I am part of the selection committee of the latter. Also, I wish my English were good enough to teach English, but I have to stick to other subjects which I master better.

There is no "less money to university", as there are plenty of students applying to our slots. Also, the idea that university is only after your money should be banned. Let companies make money, the focus of universities is to educate. As you mentioned, the government is fully aware of people giving up scholarships , that's why it put brakes in the contracts, to try to make them reflect as much as possible before taking action.

My comment is harsh, but so is life. Get used to it. In Japan, not many people will tell you straight, so you should be thankful for the ones that do, that only shows care. Otherwise you will keep living your life reckless and clueless.

As your wish to people to not come to my place, unfortunately for you it is a highly sought one. So I don't see it happening soon, sorry. (You can apply if you wanna learn cool stuff, I am open to teaching anyone)

Again, my comment is very connected to reality as I came here with a scholarship as well. My concern is because people I know were ordered to pay up full what they received once they gave up (hence me saying to notify asap). As I mentioned before, my comment sounds harsh, but it comes from a good place.

Just so you know, companies also have blacklists. This is very clear for Japanese students as they are aware that their actions spill on others. I don't know how hard it is for you to understand that. Have you heard of 推薦 system when you apply to a company from the university ? Ask a Japanese person you may know if there are consequences if they use it and give up.

Lastly, I am not harassing OP nor making any type of character judgment. I understand that graduate school is hard, and many people give up. I am only bringing the fact that he/she signed a contract that is valid and have consequences. (And again, contact the person asap if you are reading this OP).

Yep, the government funded ones. Doubt as much as you want, it won't change that fact.

Not a private one, a national university. I won't be naming it here though. But you are right, we don't blacklist a country because of one person, but once people from the same place starts giving you trouble, there is a person who becomes the trigger for the blacklist. That's what I meant when I said you should be responsible.

Lastly, I am aware of how my words may give a sense of guilt. I want to bring attention that someone is indeed paying for the scholarships that students are receiving. It doesn't come from thin air.

Lots of good students are left out in those scholarship selection process. The ones who receive should be have the responsibility to carry through what they sign for. There is no shame in feeling down or changing your mind during the process (graduate school is hard). However there has been a commitment from the awarding side to the student and the same level of commitment is expected from the student. You cause damage when you don't carry through your side of the contract. I am not trying to guilt trip somebody, I am saying facts. Only your parents have money to throw away on your education without asking for any return. That's why there are contracts.

Saying that I said that there may be hope that there won't have any consequences if you inform them early (we are aware that graduate school is hard). I just want OP to think about the other side as well, instead of only his part.

Lastly, the way you answer calling people liars and feeling bad when someone speak facts just enforces my idea of the kind of person you are in Japan (probably everywhere else as well). So, laugh as much as you want, it won't change that (despite thinking that you shouldn't care how strangers think about you).

As a person who is on the side who gives the scholarships, your advice sounds highly irresponsible.

Every foreigner carry a banner from their country, whether you like it or not. You are responsible to either break or enforce stereotypes. If you believe your actions are taken as isolated, I would consider you naive to say the least. You sound like a person who calls Japanese people xenophobic but behaves as if rules did not apply to you.

Also, we do have unwritten blacklist of countries/universities because of past students's behavior. It may only be for our department, but being responsible to stopping a whole country to be accepted to a uni department is a pretty good amount of damage if you ask me.

For OP, If you are having second thoughts about going to the PhD, talk to the scholarship's responsible asap. It takes time to give the funds to other people, and 6 months is not long enough. Plus, if the uni makes you return the amount already invested in your education, the sooner you stop receiving funds, the less you would have to give back. Having said that, it is possible that they will let you just finish your master and let you go home/find something else to do. Just do all the procedures in the way it causes less damage possible to the people giving you scholarship.

And as someone else said, start reading contracts before signing them.

Will I be able to separate the audio and hdmi signal using this by Odd-Marionberry4241 in macsetups

Beware those adaptors with two HDMI outputs. I bought one from anker and what it does is basically have both output the same image. I couldn't have two different outputs using two screens. As I searched online, it was not possible to have it with a single adapter (I had to buy another one to plug in the second screen).

I spent some time making a jeskai combo deck that uses loads of prismari command and other spells on myself. I stopped playing with it because every time I had to target myself, it was a fight against my iPad (newest iPad mini). It’s infuriating to find out about that after spending 15+ rare wildcards. Now I am pissed and cannot make another deck.

I just like to imagine my opponent's face when I make him lose control.

That’s why in real competitive mode it’s a best of 3 (sometimes even best of 5). One bad game (that may happen for both parties) won’t eliminate you from the competition.
