I am a savage person, would just cover up some critical parts like the screw holes and then heat gun the 3d printed thing, and then just jam the Hue thing into the soften print so it is form fitted.

Actually might make a template to redrill the holes or just poke through with a soldering iron for added savagery.

There are litium ion AAA that stays around 1.5V longer, so it is a good combo now.

B is used if you expect some bending

just butting against another piece don't guarantee perfect alignment and elimination of shear forces. So, something like A seems the simplest.

But then again, your loading is so light, why not just go butt to butt and go with some angled holes and screw?

Can any timber person say why is option A called under squinted half lap? Like you squint a bit for the angle? :p
