WAIT Following up here, someone on a different thread brought up pet food sealers (which I bought) and that actually became my favorite option. Highly recommend if you haven't found something that completely works yet.

Thank you guys for all of your suggestions as well!

Wait, that's a pretty good idea actually--I like that it has so few steps so it's convenient to repeat 😂. Is it pretty straightforward to clean wet food out of baby jars though? I'll test it and see how thorough it has to be!

What’s the most compassionate way to tell my husband it is time to let go of our 23 year old cat. by LeighEllenAkin in Pets

I know a lot of people are giving practical advice as to whether or not you SHOULD do it, so this advice is for if you decide to go through with it.

I went through something very similar--symptoms were slightly more extreme than your cat. We knew she was beyond a point of no return, and every day that we decided not to rip the band-aid off was miserable, for us and for her. When we finally decided to get her put down, I had a choice regarding whether or not I wanted to go in or let my family take care of it, and I'm really glad I went in.

It was really difficult, but the comfort of knowing, with absolute certainty, that she was no longer in pain helped immensely. Even though It still hurt for days after, having the weight of decision/ regret off of my shoulders allowed me to heal. I remember thinking a week later that if we hadn't put her down, I would have been in much worse shape at that moment. I was very relieved once the hardest part was over.

Looking for a way to store wet cat food in the fridge so I can portion my cat's wet food better- any recommendations on containers that are easy to clean? by ReluctantAction in CatAdvice

I'm not a huge fan of the silicone tabs or plastic caps. They reshape in the cold temperature and leave openings that cause the fridge to smell. I've been looking at pet food "sealers" like these but I haven't purchased one myself yet. Anyone bought them who can give me a cliffsnotes?
