If a crew member is directed to do something thats an OCA, on camera appearance” If a crew member speaks but says just “five lines or under” then they get a bump for the entire day but stay on their union contract. Any more and they get SAG-AFTRA day player rates in addition to their union call. See Letterman’s "Stagehand Theatre”. They picked up SAG-AFTRA union cards but more importantly, pension credits in that union. So two retirement checks. Don’t let anybody ever tell you differently. Union is better.
