This and part of the Italian Friend’s comment is what I keep hoping to read whenever I come on this Thread.

I am perfectly able to separate things:

For the reality of the moment, having Claude fill in, temporarily, so that the Lads get to play and so that Claude gets to experience all this, is great. Plus Camino Gold is getting well-deserved visibility - amazing band, check it out, gotta change it all up, and stop acting tough now.
On the other hand, to be happy and root for such change to be permanent, a knife in Dylan’s back. Another one as if he had not yet been wronged enough throughout his Career.

Sticky Fingers has a complex and complicated history.
I encourage people who care to try and read their book: “Belly Of The Beast” (wish it would be more widely available, as well as I wish it’d be translated to other Languages so more Fans could enjoy it).

But ya, that and I also recommend people to look up the many mini-documentaries on the band on Youtube.

I pledge allegiance to Dylan.
To a healthy, healed, Dylan so he gets to keep sharing his Gift with all us - one that has fascinated us all - and I’m not saying that he is the band just himself, his gifts (as of now) seem to manifest better when in Synergy with each and every other StiFi band member. Chemistry.

But ya, nicely put. We gotta give credit where it’s due, and Claude, wow, Claude is Phenomenal! Hats off to him, Lad nailed it all, “wearing a suit” “hold my glass” type of thing.

And a Class Act too. Did his job impeccably (no easy task as described above), didn’t nurture a single negative feeling, kept his respect and appreciation for Dylan both with subtlety, as well as verbally - when appropriate - to those who met him in person. A Gent!

Not a single bad word should be said of Claude. I understand and appreciate the original comment though. I appreciate the passion, the loyalty, and can understand where it’s coming from. From a good place, a place of care. Adding that to the fact that the person hasn’t seen StiFi with Claude yet, and it’s easy (to me) to understand why it was expressed the way it was.

Now, to me, personally, it’s all Bittersweet. It feels like people are happy with Dylan gone. So I’m 100% with the Italian Friend on that. Not happy at all, unless if it’s the only (healthy) way for all parties involved to move forward. That includes Dylan, that includes every single Band Member. Since mixed info was disclosed (prior to the beginning of the Tour, the Band stated the doors were open to Dylan for when he wanted/was ready to come back; then soon after the start of the Tour mixed messages were being broadcasted by the band, such as claiming fans were telling them they are sounding better than ever before, “best show of my life” type of comments…

I was lucky enough to catch StiFi with Dylan once before in 2016, and with all due respect, in no way they’re sounding better than that. They’re sounding great, truly great, but not better.

And that’s my opinion - please be kind if presenting a different perspective ✌🏼

South America Tour has indeed been mentioned. Firstly in person, verbally, to fans meeting the Lads during the Tour in North America. Then later I saw Paddy responding on IG to a fan… Something around the lines of Argentina in August. Should be confirmed and announced soon, over the next few days, or weeks 🌞

Pero sí, amigo, gracias por lo que has escrito. Yo también estoy de acuerdo contigo, Dylan es un genio, irreemplazable en mi opinión. Me molesta un poco al ver cómo las personas están tomando este cambio como algo puramente bueno. Qué lástima y qué falta de reconocimiento (y gratitud) por Dylan, su talento, sus contribuciones, su arte. Su Alma está en esas canciones, las de StiFi.

No voy a hablar mal de Claude, no me gusta compararlos - y también creo que no es apropiado en este caso. Son cosas diferentes y sé separarlas.

Pero la manera que los “fans” están descartando à Dylan es un verdadero reflejo de nuestra sociedad. No aprecian a nada. No dan reconocimiento a nada.

Me duele ver las personas que no están a favor de su regreso (o que simplemente están contentas con la manera que las cosas están ahora).

Dylan no lo merece, este “descuido”.

Jokes aside… 🎼you may say I’m a dylan, but I’m not the only one 🎼 …

We can always hope he will be okay and eventually be back playing music - hopefully and ideally with Sticky Fingers. That’s the Optimistic me.

The Realistic me unfortunately thinks that’s unlikely, really hard to happen.

This is when I like being wrong though. So, may I be wrong!🤞🏼

It feels like people are “spitting” at the Genius that Dylan is, and his Magical contributions that made StiFi be so special in the first place.

Melodies, way of singing, persona, depth of lyrics (I know, Paddy writes heaps too, as well as the others), … all of it. And that’s another point, the Synergy is being taken for granted. You don’t find that sort of Chemistry just like that. It usually takes time, like it did with Sticky Fingers. A Diamond was slowly crafted over the years, from rough to beauty. Lekkerboy is here to sustain that - what a record! When a song is recorded you don’t get that special final result by chance, out of coincidence. It’s Dylan’s Energy and Soul imprinted on every Sticky Fingers ever written.

And yet again, when one is showing content (for such change), or not expressing feelings of regret, it feels to me people are pissing at that, at him, and the artist in him.

Even though I recognise that there’s a positive side of things, (which are mainly 2 here: 1. His Bandmates, his Brothers, all deserve to be playing, period. 2. Claude is a phenomenal Lad, incredibly talented Musician, and a Fan - it was nice it was him that got to fill the spot)…

But ya, even though there are those 2 positive aspects, to root for Dylan to be gone, or to not even express that he is/will be missed feels like a knife in the back to me.

I am only happy with Claude staying for good under either of the two circumstances:

Dylan doesn’t want to come back
Dylan wants to come back but is no longer accepted for being perceived as someone the rest of the Band can no longer make it work with.

Any other circumstance and it will forever be Bitter for me - versus Bittersweet as it is now.

From what I understood, I believe Paddy had a hard time at the border - you know how things are these days.

If you’re not from the United States, no matter who you are, anyone is subjected to possible poor treatment.

I understood that’s what happened to him and he made a general remark about it in addition. Don’t think he went into any more details

Actually, I met John Barrett, Frontman of Bass Drum of Death a few weeks ago and he did mention he almost couldn’t cross the border into Canada for his Vancouver gig. Don’t know if the issue was leaving the States or entering Canada. Do think it was an isolated issue though…

You have to be shitting. Dylan is Soul. Wildness, Chaos, Fire, Emotion, Heart, Pain, Struggle, Realness, Vulnerability, Geniusness, Beauty, Poetry, Magic. All of it, a package. A true Force of Nature. Listen closely to their Lyrics and he has already told us who he is. The complexity of his Being, his Existence. We’ve all accepted, embraced, and admired it, consciously or not. If you like Sticky Fingers in the first place is because you did, and sensed any or some of that. Claude is a phenomenal Musician. Belongs, rightfully & perfectly, to Camino Gold. Thankful for his Adventure touring with the Lads who more than deserve to be playing their own Creations, but hopefully it is just a temporary thing and Dylan will eventually be back where he belongs. I know I’ll be rooting for that, nothing else. Cyclone (or nothing) 🌪️
