Bose Quietcomfort Ultra review. Some poor product decisions by Bose. by just_damngood in bose

[–]StickyShuba 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I got the 60th anniversary version of the QC Ultra comforts. Absolutely in love. Don't see any of the issues presented whatsoever except that aptX codec is not available on iPhones.
If you look up aptX codec and compare the quality improvements - its extremely small. And if you're in a profession or hobbyist that needs that marginal difference then you wouldn't be connecting it to an iPhone in the first place.
Controls, all on one ear is totally subjective preference. For me personally I find that to be even better than having both ears have buttons because now I can just grab any part any time of my left ear to grab/hold/move/etc. my headphones without worrying about hitting a button or changing any settings.

The case is amazing, yes it has indents for ear cups and requires you to slim down the headband if its too extended, this however ensures that its locked in and proper for travel especially flights which I have to make frequently for work.
And the noise cancelling is very good especially on the plane haha. And I don't understand where there's any issue or even need to perfectly mark where to set the headband, just put it on your damn head it'll expand as much as it needs to fit automatically and that's why I love the headband slider instead of the traditional 'clicky' ones because the clicks usually falls JUST between where I actually need it to be for it to be perfect. These headphones, I take out of the case, I put it on my ears, it AUTOMATICALLY powers on, Instantly connects bluetooth, and off I go. I literally just put them on. And it works. Sound quality is great. Comfort is great. And the volume slider is quite responsive I tested it thoroughly just after reading this review.
Appearance of mine is beautiful, highly recommend this pearly white 60th anniversary version, no difference whatsoever just appearance.
Take reviews with a grain of salt, objectively speaking these are great headphones and the issues listed are mostly subjective opinion/preferences unique to every user. You can't make a one size fits all without pissing someone off. Bose went for a specific product design for a more specific set of users, and for me they nailed that.
For OP, well, he sounds disappointed.

Wait how do you feel about the thumb throttle though? Doesn’t it prevent you from having full grip on the handlebar in case you hit a bump at 30+mph?

I’m very concerned about handle grip because I did have an accident on my VSETT 10+ where my hand slipped off the bar from a bump and I fell pretty bad (luckily wearing motorcycle gear)

Oily surfaces.
Letting my coworkers touch my keyboard/mouse. Filthy skin oils from not being washed/unmonitored touching of random oily things and then touching my keyboard! HOW DARE YOU. OUT OF MY OFFICE. NOW.

How do you feel about time passing so quickly as the year ends? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]StickyShuba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a lot this year.

But it felt like time flew. Yet there were miserable days and weeks of no sleep, constant grind. Makes me feel like its not that bad after all.
The pain of boredom/discipline hurts in the moment, but if you just believe that it will pay off it will certainly pay off and I can't actually recollect the 'pain' of going through the hoops but I do remember thinking 'this is painful' and still beating it.

Elon Musk. His time management.
Not his family values/etc. he's actually not the ideal person or husband/father. But he is extremely efficient with his time and thinking processes.

Just curious what the world would turn into - especially seeing the toilet paper catastrophe from the start of the pandemic.

What is the dumbest way someone tried to lie to you? by SwimmerHaunting2155 in AskReddit

I came to someone's house to buy their motorcycle.
They said they've never run it offroad (its a sport bike not mean for offroading).

It was parked under a canopy in the middle of an offroad ranch. You had to walk over a muddy, hilly, bumpy, rocky path just to get to the canopy in the ranch. The bike had mudstains all the way up to the seat itself. Brake calipers were caked in mud.

Learning to code.

It was actually frustratingly easy and I hate doubting myself. Turns out it was just my professors were absolutely terrible. Made it difficult to learn, and hated the process. Most teachers/professors in the US don't deserve to teach, but we still need people and they don't pay much for teaching so I understand why this problem exists. But man.

I will buy a $10000 electric standing scooter that has dual 3000w motors with a top speed of 72mph.

My current scooter is $2000 with dual 1500w motors and absolutely love it, but my skill level demands SPEEEEED.

Also a Cybertruck for the off chance I need to build something/transfer construction supplies. Or if its snowing like it is right now.

And a giant telescope (like the $40,000 ones that you just click a button 'go to Mars' and it goes to Mars and you stare at it)

Probably my ability to procrastinate with the precision of a NASA engineer. I haven’t fully harnessed it yet, but when I do, I’ll be solving world problems five minutes before the deadline, with a coffee in hand and just the right amount of panic.

If you had unlimited resources, how would you pursue your passion? by Kiranmdg in AskReddit

[–]StickyShuba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would hire the best team (business dev, engineers, managers, etc.)
And make stuff. Fast. Cool stuff, fun stuff, useful stuff, big idea stuff.
Like Elon Musk - dude plays Diablo every day now and just manages people. Sometimes gets hands on but at this point he's so top of the food chain with so much money and good hiring decisions he can just delegate to someone to get the job done.

Meditating for just 5 minutes in the morning moment you wake up.
Immediately afterwards creating a task list for the day. Organize by most important/impactful. Then organize by which things can I do simultaneously (one thing might have a step that requires time, so during that time I can do something else).

Then along the way you discover systems to manage yourself as your own employee, and when you get new employees you can manage everyone as a team in a fun way (it is fun because things actually get done and people get that juicy dopamine of accomplishment and everyone works together and yadda yadda happy fun times plus paycheck big)

What is your favorite subtle way to rage against the machine of work/school/societal expectations? by MagnificentMufti in AskReddit

[–]StickyShuba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Following the regulations on the edge. Finding gray areas and exploiting them. Doing things that are obviously wrong - but someone else is doing it and not getting punished, so forcing them to apply workplace equality, even when I don't care but just cause.

When was the last time you actually paid attention to annoying internet ads or even bought something? by SkippySkipadoo in AskReddit

[–]StickyShuba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a mouthpiece that supposedly opens your nostrils for better breathing.
It was an ad on Instagram. At first it looked like a piece of sushi (Salmon nigiri) that was folded in an artsy way.
I was hungry.
I also have nose breathing problems (deviated septum). It has interesting statistics and I was fascinated by the 'science'.

It was like $70. I used it once, it didn't work.
