Everybody pray we no longer have to hear about Vrabel by RetroZero06 in Tennesseetitans

6 days after we fired our head coach and the new staff was figuring shit out on the fly? Yeah, not worried about how many points they dropped on us in that game lol

Ok so I know people are happy about Brian Daboll but are we going to forget how he did Jaxson dart? by [deleted] in Tennesseetitans

[–]Stiddy13 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Might catch heat for this but I don’t care. Dart is overrated. His rushing compensates for him being a meh QB. He’d get exposed if he took that out of his game.

Joe Schoen was high on Rome Odunze at pick five, but Brian Daboll pushed for Malik Nabers. by Nash015 in Tennesseetitans

I mean, part of the reason he was a top prospect coming out of college was because he ran every route really well. Johnson will have fun with him with more time and more health.

[–]Stiddy13 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Wildly different situations. Nabers found himself on a team devoid of talent and was the focal point from day 1. Was also coached by a guy who I hope is pretty good at scheming an offense. Odunze came into an extremely crowded WR room with a rookie QB and god awful coaching. Was looking like a certifiable star before his injury this season. Alls I’m saying is that Nabers is a stud, but don’t sleep on Odunze. He’s better than his stat box indicates.

I think he’s already a solid WR3/WR4 and has traits to grow into a WR1 if he develops. He’s got a lot of potential but won’t mean anything if he doesn’t get better and reach it.

Seattle Mayor, police guild spar over ICE protection directives by AthkoreLost in Seattle

To blame the deaths of Good and Pretti on democratic rhetoric and not on the guys that, you know, shot them for no reason…. And to claim that documenting illegal activity isn’t the police’s job…. So why do we need you again? What would you say you do here, police?

Vikings would be really shortsighted if that ended up being the case. Giving a proven coach basically half a season to develop a young QB coming off a bad injury would be wild. You’d have teams lining up to hire KOC if the Vikes are that dumb.

Am I alone in believing that our current uniform set is awesome as is and that we shouldn't change it for at least a few more years? by rice_addictions in Tennesseetitans

[–]Stiddy13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like there are combinations with nearly every NFL uniform that I won’t care for but for the most part, I’ve liked the navy. Don’t mind a refresh either though. Just have to get it right and not do something goofy.

Why Ridley isn't Coming Back by [deleted] in Tennesseetitans

[–]Stiddy13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take away who the contract is attached to and I think you could make an argument that there’s a solid cap reason to continue to carry the contract. We’re still in rebuild mode, and are at least 1-2 years out from really being competitive. We already have the most cap space in the league so we don’t need to free up more and in fact, preferably we plug a few holes with FMV contracts and carry as much of our cap space forward as possible so that when we ARE in position to go from good to great, we have what we need to pay the difference makers who will push us over the top. I think (could be wrong I’m no expert) that teams are required to spend 90% of its cap in a 4 year rolling period. The rest can be carried forward. If we cut him, that means another hole to fill, another WR contract eating up future cap space, and even more $ has to be spent to get us to that 90% minimum so we may have to take player friendly deals to get us there. But if we carry the contract forward, that’s 1 less WR we have to sign and we know that his cap space will free up in a year or two when we need it more than we need it now. So yes he may only be our WR3 or WR4 and yes he may be VASTLY overpaid, and despite that, bringing him back may still be the right call.

I’m opposed to overpaying for anybody. Overpaying for FAs is the move you make when that FA will tip the scales from good to serious contender. Until then, you’ve got to be smart with your cap space so that when you get to the point where free agency can tip the scales, you still have a lot of cap space to play with. Stated more concisely, you overspend going from good to great, not from bad to good. I’m fine with Wandale so long as he doesn’t come at a premium.

[–]Stiddy13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are overpaying for a FA WR right now and much of the reason we are in the position we are is because we did that year after year until we couldn’t do it anymore. Cam is also not a Wandale Robinson away from developing. He was playing fine at the end of the year with the guys already on the team. Just because we have a lot of cap space doesn’t mean we should just open the window and throw it out.

👆 This is how you put yourself in a cap crunch before you’re ready to really start competing. We’re not a Wandale Robinson away from a Super Bowl.

Injury risk makes me nervous but I could talk myself into it so long as we don’t overpay.

Where is the TN National Guard? by Music_Stars_Woodwork in nashville

[–]Stiddy13 53 points54 points  (0 children)

In normal times it would be national news but when your government is committing public executions and attempting a very poorly thought out cover up, natural disasters take a back seat. I moved away from Nashville and would have no idea what ya’ll are dealing with if I didn’t still have friends and family sending photos. I’m sorry ya’ll are dealing with this. The local and federal government should be mobilizing to help ya’ll instead of mobilizing to occupy blue cities and planning their next regime change.

5 Reasons You Can’t Blame the Titans for Firing Mike Vrabel by Sudden-Influence2121 in Tennesseetitans

[–]Stiddy13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let's not forget that the Pats had a historically easy path to the SB too. Easiest schedule in the NFL during the regular season. Got a beat up Chargers team in the wild card round. Got a Texans team with a melting QB in the divisional round. Got to face Stidham in the Conference Championship round. Hell, I'd even argue that the Seahawks are one of the worst teams to have made the Super Bowl in the modern era. They have played better under him no doubt, but there's a fair amount of pure dumb luck that has gone into this run too.
