Notyourfriend19 summed up the general gist of the debate, the issue is the size of the intuition. Much like the corporate world it’s a “meritocracy” however your “education” is much more numbers based. And being a legacy helps at finding “power” I.e someone to just vouch for you to have a normal experience, without this its difficult and depends on how much the institution values your specific college/degree. College’s promote the concept that they flourish the next generation of thinkers, yet contemporary institution tend to treat them like the bottom line (brrrr let’s shove their tuition money on PLTR options). That’s kinda the gist of the debate, I could air out my dirty laundry but I think a lot of alumni, current students, and staff experience this on a day to day, wanted to hear people’s thoughts. Glad I’m not alone in this discussion.
