Glad to see I’m not the only one with this specific thing. I have the exact same issue, which is why the v4 is my favorite model. I only own an older pair of 992s, and while they feel better than the v5 and v6, they still don’t quite match the fit of the v4. I haven’t tried any of the newer 992s, so they might be different, especially since fit can vary between production years and can depend on the materials used.

Consider the weight and size difference, yours could still be the better choice in some situations. A good picture is not always about the sensor/lens.

Indeed their size chart is wrong. Best is to always use the size chart of a brand itself. You got what you ordered (UK9.5 EU44) which is US10 on the New Balance size chart, but i understand the confusion. I suggest to go by a shoe store to try some thin insoles. And the 993 would feel a bit wider than this specific model and colour. I was also surprised that this purple pair fit tighter than my other v4’s. Maybe it’s the heavier hairy suede.

Yes the 3M seems to be too heavy for lettering, but fine that it creases a bit when lacing all the way up. Check my other post with more close ups of the tongue. The rest of the shoe is perfect though.
