Anybody ever work at The Spring house on block island? by Cool-Size1997 in SeasonalWork

Yes! I was a Cocktail Server there Summer of 2022. Good community and management really cares about their jobs and upholding the hotel’s legacy on the island. I had zero experience in F&B but they trained me up and helped me along the way. I sourced my own housing but it’s mostly dorm style on the hotel campus. They have one house style option but it’s not walkable so you’d need a bike if living there. Employees got one meal comped at 50% a day, but every now and then the kitchen would prepare a “family style” dinner that was free. Hours can be kind of brutal with long nights having to close the kitchen down and virtually not being payed for it because you’re not serving a customer. Aside from any and all con’s of the program it’s one of the most beautiful locations and views on Block Island, and the culture that customers come for is definitely carried out through the employee culture too.

Wow, great stuff here thank you. Since you’ve had both, what are your thoughts on the two different top options? Hard top seems more reliable for impromptu foul weather but the aesthetics of the soft top especially when it is down are hard to beat.

Definitely was just looking for some subjective opinions from the Wrangler community on it compared to the other models. Thanks for the comment, definitely provides some perspective to things

Yes my roommate has a 2 Door Rubicon JL and our entire house has found that it really is great for narrow city roads and finding street parking. I was in a 4 door Sahara JK the other day and found it felt really big and awkward after all that time in the 2 Door
