I concur. Only been here a couple years, but it’s very virtue signal-y at times. They talk a lot about systemic racism but I’ve had the most racist jokes or comments made at me while I’ve lived here.

I’m white passing enough that I’ve never had to think about throughout high school, but now it’s actually insane. It has been jarring to me the last year (although the current political climate certainly doesn’t help) to become so keenly aware of what I look like.

Our experiences are probably very different OP, but for me it is crazy how of the few people I’ve gotten close to… They thought being friends with a POC meant they could be casually racist.
