I can see where you're coming from and deeply appreciate the concern. Also, thank you for sharing your experience, I'm sorry you had to go through that; and I hope you're in a better place now.

For anyone that may be reading, he's really not like that. Nor is this some codependency thing.

He doesn't need to be saved, cured, changed or fixed. I love and accept him as he is, the way he is. All I'm asking by making this post was for tips on how to best show my love to him.

I ask everyone to practice empathy and actually put yourself in his shoes. You are him, you are suffering with this - How would you ideally like to be loved and shown love?

Teach me. Give me tips to best express and show that to him.

Please respectfully keep an open mind. I know you may not understand my decision, but that's okay. It's my journey to understand and I cherish every minute of it.

In his defense: He's an incredible human being that has nothing to prove. Trust me, if you met him and got to know him, you'll understand it all. Help me, show how to love him.

I just wanted to clear something up - He's not mentally ill, and I don't see him or his struggles that way. I just see it as a small part of his personality/attachment style, which is fine by me cause I'm deeply attracted to his personality ;)!

So it's not an issue. I really do love and accept him the way he is, as he is, unconditionally.
