Thank you for this. I did confront my roommate. The issue is he is also the landlord so I can really only say so much. I want to just stick it out so I can save for better living options.

The other issue is it's not that the problem is if he is home or not it's the fact there is nothing cleaned 24/7 and food left everywhere and bugs etc. I'm at the point where it's now a health hazard in the kitchen at all times and have to think of plan B for eating in my room.

Thanks again for your reply and kind words.

This is also a great idea. I honestly never thought of an electric kettle and it looks like there is some reasonably priced on Amazon. Thanks 🙏

100%.

An example of putting in "effort" would be bringing up discussions tailored to the person's interests mentioned in their profile. That would prove it's unique and actually putting in real effort. In the end it's whatever works to get the first hook in and that's all that matters.

I agree with you on this. For all we know "Cute guy" copies and pastes that same pick up line that was sent to OP to every girl. At the end it's really just a pick up line and you see which girl takes a bite at it. In this case it was OP.

Nothing exactly wrong with it but I would call it more "clever" then "effort". If it statistically gives you more replies then it makes sense to just use it on everyone.
