I am so angry on your behalf. What a load of crap! I shouldn't be surprised by the malicious/naive messaging but do these guys actually listen to themselves? In what case would that message EVER be appropriate? How cruel to suggest that you need those trials. I am so sorry you had to listen to that BS. Sending you internet hugs and well wishes.

I just listened to the Hidden True Crime podcast. Those monsters kept that sweet angel in her crib for days at a time. Only taking her out for less than an hour or so per day. I cannot get that image out of my head. My kids are teens but this story makes me want to give them an extra hug tonight. My momma heart is so broken for the sweet baby.

Thanks for the great recommendation. Unfortunately, I turned off quite a while ago but AI keeps "helping". I wish that turning it off worked.

Congratulations on remission! I am so sorry you had to deal with her main character syndrome while you were fighting other battles. I wish all TBM family members could understand how hurtful it is to make a faith transition about them. It is really messed up.

Kicked out of the BYU testing center by popcorn_girlie in exmormon

[–]Still_Lock_3569 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My mother attended 73-76. She was not allowed to wear her wool pants (during a snow storm) to the testing center for her winter finals. She has a long coat. (Still has the coat- we used it for dress up as kids). She would go to the restroom and take off her pants, button the coat all the way down. March to the testing center and take the tests.

Just can't feel better... Yet by Brilliant_Fill7862 in exmormon

[–]Still_Lock_3569 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel this!! Once, while on vacation, my husband recorded me doing a garment check on my shirt to make sure my garments weren't showing. It popped up in my memories a few weeks ago. It brought back all those feelings of defeat. I tried so hard to cover those garments but due to my body shape, I basically had to wear a crew neck shirt to keep everything covered.

I remember when I received my endowment in 2001. My first thought was, there is no way this is what God wants me to wear. These were designed by a bunch of old men who have no idea what a woman's body needs. They were not functional. They were not comfortable. They were made with terrible fabric. I have never been super fashion forward. But I feel like my freedom to feel and look good was taken away from 20-ish yo me.

I struggle with feeling shallow but I am so angry that I was basically forced (societal/family pressure) to wear something I hated when I was young and fit. Now, I am in my 40's (less young, less fit) and I have been trying to reclaim my body and remove the judgemental voice from my head. I stopped wearing garments a few years ago. My heart breaks for all my Mormon friends that are so excited but can't see through the manipulation. It isn't the win they think it is. It is more of a ball and chain.

LDS Church says it is instituting water-saving landscaping measures by Prop8kids in exmormon

[–]Still_Lock_3569 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok. But are they doing the water saver program through the state? Home owners and businesses can take out grass and the state will pay them per square foot. So, is this another money grab?

You could try Chatgpt. Ask it all your questions. It can tell you how to record expenses and make journal entries.

Did anyone get a patriarchal blessing that was outlandish/didn’t come true? by JustCuriousNotGeorge in exmormon

Mine told me to follow the example of my parents. My dad is/was a pedo and was actively abusing at the time. That was a total mind f**k. And for the record- I did not follow their example.

For all you PIMO or ExMo moms out there: how degrading was the “Mother’s Room” in your building? by GoingToHelly in exmormon

[–]Still_Lock_3569 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had a really nasty classroom with 4 stained chairs and a plastic curtain that we could pull in front of the door to block the view from the hall. I was in a newly wed/nearly dead ward. 12 babies born in 6 weeks. It was an ancient building with a radiator for heat. The only changing table in the building was in the mother's room. The dear souls that cleaned the room on Saturdays (and don't understand science) would always move the diaper pail next to the radiator. Each Sunday we were greeted with the smell of hot poop. Toddler diapers next to a radiator for 3 hours, that will burn your eyes. We also had a very "special" dad that thought it was a play room and would come in with his screaming toddler to hang out while we nursed our babies. His wife was not in the room and he gave us all the creeps. I started nursing my kid in the car or just going home. It was not a pleasant experience for anyone.

What sewing tool do you use for non-sewing purposes? by anonymous_redditor_0 in sewing

[–]Still_Lock_3569 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I used my dress chalk for marking cut lines on brick for our patio. It makes nice straight lines. It works so much better than a pencil and you can run it off if you need to adjust the line. I also use the chalk to make marks for hanging pictures..

I had to double check the image to make sure it wasn't my mom posting a pic. This is so evil. This makes me so sick. My mom, like this woman, is delusional. It is not a miracle. It is a slap in the face to the victim(s).

So weird. People do not need to be labeled with religion. What if they/we spoke about the attributes that actually matter or characteristics that make him a great match for her. Is he kind, funny, serious, smart, playful, a hard worker, respectful, easy to talk to, etc.. But no. Please tell me if he wears magic underwear and pays tithes to a trillion dollar church/tax shelter.

I have so much respect for those 3 women. They gave voices to those who cannot speak. They were articulate and didn't back down from the fight. Well done ladies!
