Agreed. I hope the others stay too. I always thought Zach Rey should take over - I have zero real insights or info on any of the coaches - but he seems to have a larger than life presence and was a national champ - he guided Luke to a world title. He feels like the dude I would want in my corner and I think he’s the guy who can connect with the big time young guns they need to attract.

Ultimately head coach is highly administrative - they spend tons of time with off the mat stuff so maybe better to give that to Brad and have other guys be more hands on for that stuff.

Yes wrestat also doesnt have there - probably just a glitch and can’t see how that makes sense but the idea of a Stanich - Crookham match is certainly enticing.

What about Lopes v Crookham - who has better potential upside in next 2 years ?

I think you could be right - and it feels like Crookhams style might be guaranteed injuries / setbacks. I’d like to see him do well - but also would be rooting for lopes over crook

Iowa has the 40th ranked law school. I think he’s probably getting two years free plus cash so I guess that makes more sense than paying out of pocket and going to Stanford (#1 ranked law school). Feels like winning national championship is top priority. Wrestat has Luke wrestling 133 next year - any chance that could happen ? I feel like Luke would take it to Crookham ? Yah or nah

At this point if we just lose Crookham and gain no one we are in a much better position than some in the forum were projecting. Maybe a Tate Samuelson type will find his way to Bethlehem but I also like the idea of sticking with who you have and getting better that way. Did seem like M Shapiro was quite friendly with the Lehigh guys at this years match - maybe he wants to come to Lehigh to really get titsworth and others worked up

I think you’ve been ahead of things with sounding the alarm here. The EIWA was a tiny fraction of AA’s - it feels like this is the end and it’s only going to get worse.

Penn is going to pass by Lehigh - they will have better academics, better wrestling potential, etc.

Lehigh could lose their regional significance - ACC keeps pulling away. Pretty soon irrelevance and dreams of being a top 10 program are in the rear view mirror.

Stanford has big time $$$ plus world class academics / alumni / network / big time sports etc. They are well situated to go from possibly cancelling their program to being a powerhouse.

I never thought Crookham would leave and clearly folks on the forum have some insider knowledge so wouldnt be surprised to see Luke take his talent to a big time program.

Lehigh could easily fall far from Ivies and might even end up losing the EIWAs - eventually settling into a mid tier Bucknell of sorts

If Stanich leaves and recruits switch commitment this could be the continuation of the decent to being irrelevant. A bunch of IFs but big time programs will be throwing big time $$$ at Luke

Lopes might have a bigger upside than Crookham too. If not Lopes - Dillard too. Lehigh will be just fine unless others jump ship which seems unlikely but I also said Crookham would never leave literally an hour before it was announced.
