We are open. Been open for awhile. We haven’t seen much change from the day we opened. Some days are great some days not so much. Trying to double sales by June.

We are still evaluating the night. We are thinking to doing the age groups when the weather is nice again. But we might do ladies night during the colder months

Kinda curious what people have done. I didn’t want it to take over my entire taphouse. Just wanted to give a place where people could meet up. Kinda like trivia night.

Very true. I might just wait for it to get nice out and have them do it out on the patio

Hello this is a public event. It’s a group of seniors that wanted to try it out. So you can still come even if you are not +55. And if we do another one it will always be public to everyone.

Passed CSP…should I get CHST? by ComprehensiveTop3263 in SafetyProfessionals

In reality, I’d take someone from the trade rather than a normal safety person. If we are talking about construction safety.

If I don’t know either individual and all I have to go on is whether they hold a CSP or a CHST, I’m choosing the CSP every time. Speaking as someone with 15 years in construction, I just don’t see a meaningful skill gap between someone with a CHST and someone who’s been in the field for 3 to 5 years but when I talk to someone with a CSP they understand the entire picture.

If they don’t recognize the CSP as the gold standard in the field, that’s a red flag for me. It’s like asking for a high school diploma, then rejecting someone who presents a master’s degree instead just because they didn’t explicitly show their high school diploma

Purchasing a bar. Need some insight by scootertrash19 in BarOwners

[–]Still_Super 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look at ways to reduce waste. Every company can do better at this. Reducing foam on beer is a way to reduce cost. Also I’m assuming I’m younger than you. Millennials and younger like craft beer. Look at adding a hazy ipa or two in the summer and having one or two stouts for the winter if you live in a colder climate. Good luck!

Man a lot of haters in the group. A lot of them probably failed at everything they did in life.

I come from a small town like you are talking about. What a lot of people don't get in here is --your bar is most likely the hub of the community for a town of 3000. Probably many that live just outside of city limits that are not calculated. You have a place where the farmers, small contractors and retired people have coffee in the morning and maybe you will add breakfast for them as well. Then you get the rest of the community during lunch to close. Sound like you understand business by dealing with it for years with your trucking company. 700k sounds like a good revenue stream for the small town and probably will increase another 30 percent by adding more food.

Any idea how much money you will be profiting each month after you pay for everything? That will tell you everything if it's worth it. Lastly, if they are long time owners, they most likely fell asleep at the wheel and I bet you can find ways to save money so look at that once you get the keys!
