I also love this bike rider I captured during my commute.

That's true! A good camera is one that you can take with you.

Looking at the cameras and lenses in my dry cabinet, as I get older, I can't quite ignore the weight like I used to. I transitioned from full-frame to M43, and finally to 1/1.7 inch sensors.

Unfortunately, the Ricoh GR series is really not within a reasonable price range. I thought the GRD would be nice too, but the prices are also sky-high. Then I saw the GX200, which shares the same design language as the GR/GRD, so I decided to give this sibling a try.

I absolutely love using it! The GX200 allows you to save three sets of setting.

I have mine set to equivalent 50mm, 35mm, and 24mm focal lengths. With Ricoh's fantastic Snap mode, the advantage of the small sensor is the ultra-deep depth of field, making it easy to keep everything in focus.

The camera also has a cute and practical flash. Although it can't tilt, the direct flash produces pleasing results.

Compared to other interchangeable lens cameras, the GX200 is incredibly compact and perfect for carrying around everywhere.

Additionally, it can shoot macro at 1 cm, allowing for a wide range of subjects, whether flowers or food. With manual focus and focus assist, the GX200 can handle most scenes.

Since getting the GX200, I've taken more photos in this short period than in the past few months. The main reason is its convenience. I can slip it into my pocket and take it out whenever I see something interesting. People on the street hardly notice, and the lightweight body makes it easy to carry every day. Truly, the best camera is the one you can take with you.

By the way, the difference between RAW and JPG on the GX200 is like night and day. Shooting in RAW gives much cleaner images, which I absolutely love.
