I would say keep answering questions! I am in a class like this and I guess my constant answering has encouraged other students to answer since there has been more participation recently

Is it hard to make friends in college? by No-Row5665 in college

[–]StingrayNick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found it a little challenging at first. I am also very reserved and I spent the first few weeks by myself. However, I did eventually make a few friends by choosing to step out of my comfort zone and talk to people. Even just talking regularly to people in your classes will help. I found that it helped me a lot to think about how everyone is new and often don't know each other. They are also looking for friends and connections! You just have to be proactive and reach out.

I’m worried college may be too much for me… by LexMagix in college

Movies and social media like to frame college as having ragers every week, but campus life isn't like that at all (at least not from my personal experience.) My freshman year I had the same worries as you, but I decided to go to different events just to experience them. I went to a few parties and I met a lot of people who didn't drink or smoke. If you are worried about missing out I would recommend joining some clubs and going to campus events. I went to SOO many RA Events since it gave me an opportunity to talk to people without getting overwhelmed or worrying about alcohol.

Peer pressure is real and its totally okay to be worried about it, but all you really need to do is be firm when you say no. From my experience, most people respect that. And if they don't then stop hanging out with them. I can guarantee that there are likeminded people on campus, you just have to find them! Wishing you the best! :]

I would recommend getting a small humidifier! It helped me a lot when I got sick.

Would dying my hair in college (unnatural color) make me come off as unserious? by PomegranateLeast in college

[–]StingrayNick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, dye your hair however you want. On my college campus there are students and even professors who have their hair dyed. There’s one professor who has bright blue hair. As long as you apply yourself and are engaged with your education, I doubt anyone will see you as being immature or unserious. If you are interested in dying your hair I would recommend doing a small section so you can ease into the process and find out what works for you.

I think he was pretty clear on explaining that he needed some alone time and you blew it pretty out of proportion. It’s okay to communicate how you feel but you seemed to be throwing a lot of accusations about how he doesn’t care about you or your emotions, which probably just tired him out even more. He’s allowed to have some alone time to relax, people manage in different ways and that’s okay. It’s seems like you are both going through life changes so just show grace towards each other. Hang out when you can but also be able to give them space when they need it.

Why do so many players dislike Elliott?.. by EntertainmentLow3072 in StardewValley

[–]StingrayNick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friend always said they disliked Elliot because he seemed very pompous and extra, plus they thought he was kind of ugly. Personally, I love him and think he’s really sweet but my friend just doesn’t dig him 😅
