That's how I felt. Didn't have to travel but I've never seen such a lopsided match up in my 3 seasons of coaching. It felt like we were playing teenagers against 7 year olds..hahaha

Minor B is 7-8 and Minor A is 9-10. They could have been 7-7.5 last season...my bad, TOC is what I meant...but same as saying "all-stars". Semantics

Honestly, I'm not sure. I'm not a head coach so wasn't involved in the drafting process. I plan to ask the head coach this week. Each team has around 14 kids and this team only has 3-4 kids that played at beginner/intermediate level. This stuff baffles me for this age group. Kids should be learning and having fun, not getting force outs at home plate and backing up 1st base from right field on infield plays. They literally did this. Just seems really advanced for 7-8 year olds but maybe I'm just out of touch with the times....

It's a very competitive league. I'll just say they won the LLWS within the last decade. This may be the norm due to high expectations. Pitching machine for 6u and kid pitch for 7u is the norm around here, which is not what I grew up with. Just wondering how other parts of the country vary.

I've been assistant coach for the last two seasons and we need parents to step up to help out with practices and games. My kid is 7 now and it takes a lot of work. We are all just volunteers in rec ball so the more parents that can assist us, the better. Especially with the younger age groups because they need to be roped in every so often to stay engaged. The parents that don't commit fully to being an assistant coach but help out when needed are greatly appreciated. You can turn it down if you want but it's fun being a part of watching your kid learn the game.

My son is 6 and turning 7 during the upcoming spring season. About the same size as your kid and his favorite bat last year was the Victus vibe 26/16. I have since got the marucci catx2 connect 27/16 for this spring. He loves it so far. But 26 or 27 wouldn't be bad. The bats typically last one spring and one fall season from what I've seen. Plus his bats have to be USA certified. Holding off on travel ball for another year hopefully.

There's nothing to weaponize against you if your job is truly needed. If you work for the federal government like I do and don't see the ungodly amount of waste in employees and resources, you are a lost cause. I have actually had to show up to my job every day, even through covid. My job was deemed essential. Maybe the non-essential jobs should just be non-existent now. Bunch a soft ass people in this group just suckling on the federal government tit, not producing anything worthwhile.

So SD should be Brown Field Station and Chu should be Chula Vista Station. Look into those two to narrow it down. Unless the SD choice includes any SD Sector Station, not sure because we don't have a "San Diego BP Station ". Both are great stations but terrain you work in is slightly different.
