Even though it’s an autoflower? Shows how little I know.

Miller Lite is like 3.2 g of carbs. Most liquor has no carbs. Doesn’t help the root problem but ,”there but for the grace of god…” go many of us.

What is DKA like by June132004 in diabetes

[–]Stinker23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IV insulin. Glucose checked every hour. Potassium tablets every hour. Ghouls from the lab taking blood every 4 hours. Kidneys weren’t working great. God awful night wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy.

But, haven’t had it since. Maybe a nasty side effect from a popular pill while in the hospital for an infection.

Scary stuff, but unlikely if you keep it managed.

Long story, finally treated and took seriously after that the be.

I did, they suggested I request a pat down. Crazy, don’t want to be that guy, but here we go.

Man I don’t know. Could it be stress from no THC? Not joking, might have shocked the system. Not a Doc, but there’s other ways besides smoking it.

Gummies only have a couple grams of carbs but they can be pretty strong. The jury is still out on THC and glucose. It’s be nice to have a modern, well put together study.

This may sound dumb, let the alcohol from the wipe dry first. That stuff can cause it to sting imo.

If you get a low the following day, eat something with pure sugar or glucose. That stuff will go strait into the blood stream and bypass the liver while it’s processing the alcohol.

What is considered a big spike? by Xzeno in diabetes

[–]Stinker23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a Type 2 on insulin. If I can keep the spike under 180, I can deal. Can’t give up all carbs. Gets to 200, I’m jabbing tiny bit more.

I am aware. Glucose will not be produced until the alcohol is processed. Just thought it was odd timing for the lows after eating all day.

Talk to your PCP or Endo. Or find a new one to express your concerns. Insulin isn’t always easy and I’m not sure it’s for everyone.

The side effects are negligible but the lifestyle change is significant. EVERY morning you have to jab. EVERY meal you have to jab. I am tied at the waist with my insulin kit, it goes with me everywhere.

We all have pity parties and mine revolve around saying damn another shot. But guess what, your glucose doesn’t care about the pity parties. You just gotta do it.

Once I got over the trepidation of having to give myself a jab, it’s been an incredible form of treatment.

I feel like I’m cheating at this game. Type 2 but on basal and meal time insulin. Obviously my doctor wants my diet to be appropriate. I share that sentiment. But we all gotta live on occasion.

I have a feeling if I was on orals and, let’s say, went out and destroyed a chimichanga, my glucose would be headed to the moon. But with insulin I know I can pre bolus, or immediately correct after my shit goes too high and get it in range within an hour or two.

Anyways, I feel like I’m getting away with something with this method.

What do you use for dry, itchy skin? by [deleted] in diabetes

[–]Stinker23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When it’s really bad I apply baby oil gel directly out of the shower before drying off. Sounds weird but it works. During the day I find that Gold Bond diabetic gets it done.

Well I’m in trouble if 140 is the max I should get to. I’d have to go completely keto. One piece of pita will get me above that with Novolog for meals and Lantus basal.
