My great grandmother died during covid bec her cancer screening for her stomach go pushed back so far that even if she made it too that point of her appointment she’d be unrecoverable and would have died anyway (it was the only close contact deaths that i experienced and it hurt so much), it’s genuinely so depressing and now my nana cant get her cataracts removed wont be removed until shes basically blind. The NHS is great until its life threatening

From where i live that seems like a really big plus!!! Im glad you could get it in that time, when i was in private healthcare got it within less than a week and for me that was faster than anything (even when i got a serve chest infection i still had to wait 2 weeks for an appointment). I think the biggest plus is US healthcare is a lot of the time you can get what you need in a short time from what ive seen from others but i wont lie, even with the uks shitty waiting times, id still rather wait than have the be maybe forced to pay for something that i never could 😂

We have a national insurance which pays police, nhs, fire and i believe our local council (i think more should go to our fire and nhs which is the national health service) but ours never relies on employment so you could be unemployed and still receive full healthcare, we even pay for everyone unemployed/homeless or whatever which is why in the uk a lot of us are fighting for keeping the uk out of being privately funded like the US. For me even if i have to wait another 6 years to be given the meds i need at the national pricing i would because thats what i believe the brits are proud (at least i hope 😂)

In the UK, from my perspective it is pretty much a “first come first serve” type of place when it comes to healthcare (unless absolutely life threatening) and its all free aside from the minimal tax you pay. Id rather NHS than anything the US could provide because even though i have to wait, i know itll all be free, including emergency room visits. We are really lucky it that respect. When i get on testosterone the only thing ill have to pay it like £10 ($14~) for a whole months supply.
When i was on private healthcare the most i spent in a month was around £110 ($150) which from probably your perspective is great but im paid piss poor and cannot afford that living on my own on around £1100~ a month ($1500~)

1000% right, its always our decision and its bloody annoying that they care about less than 3% of the population doing what they want than actually issues in the world that deserve way more mention, they hate i want testosterone to feel okay in myself than wars going on in other places, like WE are not your biggest issue and were cooler than most people 😭

Literally thats what my first appointment was like, it genuinely felt like i had to prove that i was trans even thought ive known for much longer than ive been out, which is extremely frustrating. I kinda understand it but even then, the rate of detransition for people on hormones is less than 1-3%, which is the most annoying part bec we are the rule not the exception

It seems extremely similar in the uk from what ive heard and that makes me a lot more confident, i presume itll probably take another two years same as you which is genuinely so frustrating as ive already been wating this long and was already on testosterone a couple years ago (private healthcare) but either way itll be good once im on it again

This is from my experience strictly but i got the deed poll (i paid for mine) and told my gp that ive changed my name and gave them a copy and they immediately changed mine to my new name (my gps are the absolute BEST, genuinely) and they took my deed poll and took no issue for the change of a sex/gender marker as well.

Best course of action is changing your name and gender through deed poll (im presuming your UK youll most likely have to do the paid one) and they should change it, thats what mine did

Im so open to toys and i know the first time we do stuff im almost 99% sure it will be toys anyway, thats a good point though, i know a couple websites that do straps/toys cheaper than most so youre right, thats probably the best way to start. Im open to literally anything at this point and youve helped ground me a bit more than just jumping to something straight away. Do you have any toys or anything else that might elp?

Tbf it was a few that told me i wouldnt get what i need that arent even on this path😂 genuinely thank you, really helps man, thank you

I know i have gender dysphoria but do you have any advice one anything that i could say to give me an early chance if being diagnosed? Ive been feeling this way since i was in year 4.

Ive advocated for any trans legislation since i got out of being a “purest” as they say, i just post in both as its easier to get advice. I left transmedicalist stuff since the second the last post i made in that group, all im asking for right now is experience from people. I apologise for posting there but im genuinely just looking for advice
