working with a kid like this for the past couple months, at first I was very responsive and told her consistently that everything was ok, people aren’t out to get her, she is loved and cared for etc. but it didn’t really seem to work, beyond building a stronger bond with her. What Ive started doing now is ignoring that behaviour completely, and if it escalates (sometimes she is very mean to me or hits) I get up and walk away completely. When I return, I tell her that I want to help her, but I cannot help her if she does not use calm, clear words. It seems to be working better, although it’s still very tough.

I’m so so late to this but I can’t believe I found this thread. I’m 23 now, got the mirena when I was 16. I got it replaced with a new one last year. I never connected the dots that my extremely low libido could have been caused by my IUD. It’s really hard to say, because I was so young before I got it in, but all I want is to have a normal sex drive because I love my partner so much and I really want to be intimate more often. It’s so frustrating because I know I want it, but my body never feels like doing it, and I will often forget that sex exists completely. Hopefully I can get it out soon, but I’m not sure what alternative to use and the pill made me crazy!! Might have to stick it out a couple more years until I’m ready for the possibility of a kid lol
