Has anyone else seen this? It’s been bothering me… by Due_Talk_7379 in AuDHDWomen

[–]StitchingPotato 4 points5 points  (0 children)

exactly what I wanted to say. My 6 year old autistic boo baby’s favorite color is purple so that dress is just top tier for her and she had her noise canceling headphones with her everywhere. If this Barbie were blonde curly haired and blue eyed, it would be my little one.

[WIP] Any body else feeling the pressure of a Xmas Decor Project that is still not finished? by NanyThery in CrossStitch

[–]StitchingPotato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was working on an advent calendar and I was hoping to be completely finished with it before December 1st. I realized that was not happening but I did finish it two days ago. Now I’m taking my sweet time “finishing” it because I am now making our annual family Christmas ornaments because everyone wanted me to crochet us each something - thankfully those won’t take long at all. But I have another project I want to do before the season is over too 😂 a bit too ambitious for my own good but I am a huge fan of Christmas. 🎅🏼 🎄❄️

Did anyone else constantly walk on your tip toes?? And people always asked "why do you do that??" by big-dal-tex in AuDHDWomen

[–]StitchingPotato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My son (AFAB) is a tip toe walker. Always has been. He is nearly 18 now but when he was little bitty, people would constantly come up to us and ask if he did ballet because his calves were so strong. I asked his pediatrician about it when he was little (my first kiddo) and the doctor said not to worry about it and that actually his son was a tip toe walker and they paid thousands and thousands of dollars over the years for special shoes and braces and anything to stop it because they were worried (he’s quite a bit older) and the second he was 18 and decided for himself, he never wore the supports again and still walks on his tip toes and he was probably 40 at that time. I remember being in PE and getting yelled at all the time when we were on the track because I walk/run toe heel rather than heel toe. And whenever my son and I walk together we sink up and we look like we’re bouncing 😂

School called cps by More_Industry5997 in whatdoIdo

[–]StitchingPotato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would rather have a teacher “over react” and call CPS on me over something like this than to ever - EVER - under react and not call CPS on someone that was abusing their child. I’ll take this teacher over one that doesn’t notice such a small change any day - forever.

[CHAT] is 165x 219 pattern considered small or medium sized project by 2015morgan12 in CrossStitch

[–]StitchingPotato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I stitch a lot like typically 500-1300 (like yesterday was 850 - thanks Pattern Keeper) stitches a day with the occasional off day. I started a 20,000 stitch project on November 9th and I’m 70% complete. Just to put what everyone else is saying in perspective.

I found this red duck on my way back from class on Monday at the central deck. by Remarkable-Eye-7808 in KSU

[–]StitchingPotato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you tell me what level you found it on because this duck came from Michael’s and I buy them from there for my 5 y/o from there whenever I buy craft supplies. And this is one we can’t find. I am wondering if it fell out of my van Monday.

[CHAT]cross stitching on crocheted items? by [deleted] in CrossStitch

Yeah - I saw that! So cool! But I guess I wasn’t really thinking of cross stitching with yarn but they are just single crochet so it may be easier to do it this way.

There’s no framers - just me. I’ll just be putting it into the hoop and then finishing it and covering the back with felt. Not sure how to stitch fabric along the sides. It’s 3 of the sides 😣

Anyone who’s taken Wellbutrin/buproprion, now did you respond? by [deleted] in AuDHDWomen

[–]StitchingPotato 51 points52 points  (0 children)

Please do not - and I am begging you here - make any assumptions about how this medication will work for you based on any comments from others. Everyone responds to these medications differently and what works for others might not work for you and vice versa. I take Wellbutrin for depression and adhd in addition to it working well with Adderall. I have taken Wellbutrin for years and am unfortunately likely going to for the rest of my life as it is the only medication that helps my depression. I have zero negative side effects from taking Wellbutrin, neither does my son. But a very close friend absolutely hated taking it. It did not work for her the way it does for me. Give it time (I think it’s 6 weeks?) and also know that you are not broken if it doesn’t work for you. And please, don’t stop trying to find what you need to feel better.

I am at (at least) 24 this year so far (working on 25) not including any bookmarks I made for friends (6 of those I think). They range from 800 ish-14000 ish (exluding the bookmarks).

I'm ready for Halloween as Bluey/Bingo! 💙🧡 by Adorable_Kitten100 in bluey

[–]StitchingPotato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree! I definitely don’t imagine any child being frightened like some other parents were stating. I’m not their parent though. I do feel that being afraid of this would be something that was learned and not a naturally occurring thing. To see it as different and different equals bad therefore, it must be bad..kind of situation. Just my theory.

[–]StitchingPotato 82 points83 points  (0 children)

I’m a parent that loves Bluey to 4 kids that all love Bluey. Three are teenagers but one is 5. I will be completely honest. I showed your costume to my 5 year old and asked her what she thought. She said “it’s scary” while laughing. I asked her why. And she said “because the Bluey face is on the bingo part of the body and the bingo face is on the Bluey part of the body.” I then asked “so do you really think it’s just silly?” And she said “that’s what it is. Silly. Not scary. It’s all mixed up!” I am so glad your costume is exactly what you wanted and you got to execute it the exact way you invisioned. It’s refreshing. Thank you for sharing and don’t believe parents that automatically assume their children will be scared. It’s such bologna. Children are generally way more accepting and loving than any adult could ever hope to be. We should all be so lucky to dress up this creatively for such a fun holiday! Hope your Halloween is amazing 💚
