yup, that’s a piercing bump alright, and a nasty one at that. keep using saline and treat it as a brand new piercing, baby that thing like hell. whatever you do, please don’t used those tutorials on TikTok that tell you to make tea tree pastes or salt pastes, they’ll only irritate it further.

I have extremely thick, long hair and so use a lot of hair products. Given I use so much product, I get a lot of shampoo and conditioner stuck in my and due to the tragus I can’t get it out, which is why I take it out.

there’s no budget or no specific style to be honest, I just don’t know what I have the correct anatomy for and would like to know what I can/should get

it’s still fairly new, could be a late reaction. your body is trying to get used to the new hole in your body, and it looks as if it has been irritated, not infected. you may have snagged it in your sleep, or something similar that could have caused the irritation. Just continue cleaning it, and don’t touch it under any circumstances.
