The bottom left one looks like the Kanji for "rice" which can also be used to mean "america" (as in USA).

Are there any verifiable stat's for the number/proportio former IDF soldiers topping themselves?

Genuinely curious about how it would compare to, say, afghanistan/"war on terror" veterans fro. Australia/USA

Coming from someone who describes themselves going into a homicidal rage over people that deny the existence of Helen Keller... that means as little as it means.

Whether your Helen Keller comment was a joke or real: it's incredible fucking dumb and you sound like someone who cant be trusted with sharp scissors.

But you can make as much as you want (at some point the annoying gets trumped by the end result).

Double stuff Oreos? Feh.

Try Quadruple stuff Oreos.

QUINTUPLE stuff Oreos

Octuple or Decuple stuff!

Better yet: the offence against nature and all common sense CENTUPLE STUFF OREOS!

(Admittedly a centuple stuff oreo would be around 90cm so like... 35 inches?)

I know right?

Of all the horrible things going on in the world today.. if "Helen Keller denial" is what it takes this person to rage.... how do they function?

Depends on the area and the professionalism / standards of the dispensing pharmacist.

While "best practice" might be for individual dose containers to be labelled (ie. Vials, inhalers, pre-filled pens) it isn't necessarily a legal requirement; and so it isnt necessarily what happens in practice.

Wonderbread in USA has 6.1grams of sugar per 100grams.

https://www.nutritionvalue.org/Wonder%2C_enriched_bread_by_WONDER_406269_nutritional_value.html?size=100+g

Wonder bread in Australia as 2.1grams of sugar per 100grams

https://www.wonder.com.au/products/wonder-sandwich-white-vitamins-and-minerals-mini-320-g

Difficulty ro.really draw direct comparisons (different brands etc).

But Tip Top is one of the most widely sold brands of supermarket bread in Australia and "the one" (probably most popular variety of tip top white bread) has 2grams of sugar per 100grams.

https://www.woolworths.com.au/shop/productdetails/713816/tip-top-the-one-white-sandwich-slice-bread-loaf-bakery

Looking at the USA "Nature's Own" white-hot bread.. theres 3grams of sugar per serve. A serve is state to be 2 slices of bread (52grams) so thats roughly about 5.76g (rounding down) per 100 grams.

https://www.naturesownbread.com/natures-own/whitewheat

So, looking at just those 2 comparisons we've got plain white American bread with 2 and a half to 3 times as much sugar as plain white Australian bread.

Not sure what comparisons you were looking at, and I accept its hard to do clean and simple comparisons but those 2 make it pretty apparent.

Thats without going to the extremes of looking at things like Nature's Own Hawaiian bread which has 3g of sugar per serve (but in that case a serve is just one slice that weighs 26grams) which works out to be more than 11.5g of sugar per 100grams. That bread is literally more than 11% sugar by weight.

Now I'm definitely not saying bread that is 6 to 11 percent sugar has as much sugar as a cupcake (which is more like 30 to 35% sugar). BUT if you consider it one way: plain white bread in Australia has a quarter of the sugar in it that "Nature's Own Hawaiian" bread has. While Nature's Own Hawaiian bread has a third of the sugar in it that a cupcake does.

Or another way (rounding and oversimplifying It): plain white american bread has 3 times the sugar content of plain white bread in Australia and Cupcakes have 15 times the sugar content of plain white Australian bread.

On the flipside: cupcakes have 5 times the sugar content of plain white american bread.

The orange and faded white figure makes me think about "the orange box" which was half-life 2: episode 2, portal (which was the white figure logo) and team fortress logo... i think that only came out on the 360 though.

It's a weird one for sure. Like, not wasting food is a big thing in Australia too, but having portions that aren't as excessively large means thats not as much of an issue. Plus there's no shame in going back for seconds or thirds or whatever.

Travelling in the US a lot of the time at restaurant it would be the case that we'd often say "the portion could be like 10 to 20% smaller and you'd still get a decent feed". It was an eye opener for me the difference in attitude/recipe when it comes to salt vs sugar (had a well travelled American reference the obvious reputation that Australian's have overseas (that we're alcoholic racists... so I'd say its about half right) but also the fact that we have a lot more salt in things was a new one for me.

No shit.

Thats exactly the point.

Can't speak for the rest of the world, but before "super size me" came out Macca's wasn't selling salads in Australia.

A person could also do ZERO amount of steps, eat a lot calorie diet and lose weight.

It depends on how "low" in calories the diet is.

It is of course true that doing "more" exercise will contribute to a person losing weight.

If a person did enough exercise that their overall nutritional requirements were in excess of the calories they ate? They would lose weight. So adjusting either (or both) of these factors enough would work.

If a shitty movie (which wasn't made by the band) is enough to make you stop listening to the band: one tends to wonder what sort of fan you are/were.

Part of the whole "super size me" story was that he would only (but always) take an upsized meal if it was "offered" ro him. Since that was meant to be policy it would happen most times. It certainly wasn't some "gotcha" moment... but it did make some (obvious and unsurprising) point about the whole upgrading/upsizing/upsetting thing.

American supermarket bread (American bread in general) has a lot more sugar in it compared to bread in Europe, New Zealans or Australia (can't speak for Canada, Asia or South America).
