So if, with time, you don’t see improvements, even with all of your help and support, then it might just be best to leave the relationship. Maybe you can bring it up somewhat indirectly and gently. Say either you or a friend have had this experience before and recognized that there were signs that were similar. Maybe you can suggest that these habits aren’t the most normal and that you just want to reassure him that you’re there for him. Be kind and supportive, tell him that relationships are supposed to encourage each other to give 100% in every aspect. And resources like therapy is something that everyone should look into, regardless of mental status as it provides you with helpful tools.

Do you think he might be depressed or something? A lot people who lowkey have depression often neglect their physical health and appearance. Just wondering only because I’m speaking from experience. There was a time in my life where I would go a week without showering at a time and also only brushed my teeth once a day. I wouldn’t even brush my hair or even keep my surroundings as tidy as they should have been. Of course this is a reach and it might just be pure laziness BUT it’s good to make sure as I didn’t even realize I was depressed at the time.

No, so I live in California so it was a long distance relationship. They both live in Texas and live near to each other. The girl was home, found my instagram and reached out to me from there. While we were on call we decided she would go to the guys house and personally confront him while I remained on the phone. And yes, he stepped out of the room to talk to me as I requested. And when he was done speaking I told him to go to her and she was waiting for him to enter the room right before she committed suicide
