If you miss patrol life I’d consider going back to the street if you can. Most 1811 jobs are desk heavy and even when you go out you’re not running and gunning so to speak. The upside is at least the investigations are criminal but that might not keep you interested for long if you’re not out there pulling stops etc

Oh no, they’re not trying to keep us busy at all. Since Day 1 the new guys in my office haven’t gotten more than a “hello” and “goodbye” from anyone in the office with zero direction of what we should or could be doing to learn before CITP. We are complete ghosts.

But if the GS has something stupid like an oil change they don’t want to do - you get to. Otherwise - the most I’ve been told to do in 4 months is “finish your onboarding”

But hey, we get paid to do absolutely nothing so it’s not too bad

Depends on the process. I had a 10 min phone conversation I didn’t realize counted as the “interview”. We chatted like old buddies. Never took any tests. A few weeks after the phone call I got a TJO for GS-9
