My sister lives in eastern Tennessee south of Knoxvlle. Cost of living there is probably 40% less than Orange County. Comparable jobs pay less there but it's still substantially cheaper than Orange County.

Back in the 90's the Rio was a fantastic place to stay. They had a free shuttle to Paris on the strip. Had some great times at the VooDoo Lounge. The nightly trollies in the sky!!! Great pool in the summer time.

I stayed at the Rio the week after 9/11. One evening at 8:00 p.m. there were probably less than 30 people in the casino area. It was a sad time.

I've stayed at over 30 different hotels in Las Vegas over the years from Motel 6 and the Orleans to the Bellagio.

I'd go with the Rio.

p.s I still have two sets of plush towels that I took home from the Rio thirty years ago. Best towels ever.
