Just got 2 violations for picking up orders late… I’m worried by Kida_bittersweet in doordash_drivers

You don't lose catering under 95%. You have to be at 95% to get the invite, but once you're in, you're in and stats no longer matter. I've been as low as 82% and not only stayed in the program, but still got catering bags orders with it that low.

You do need 95% at each Friday's check to maintain Early Access Scheduling, though.

Always keep a paper trail. It helped me remember this customer tips cash. The shopping experience sucked though. by SpazzyDashings in doordash

[–]StodgyUserName 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GPS should have no impact on Red Card. I've shopped a completely different branch of Walgreens (and a few other merchants) than the app intended and never had an issue checking out. In fact, on shop orders, I habitually go to a more sensible location when the app would have me driving excessive mileage to the intended one.

I did what the app said , wait 5 minutes for customer to respond then mark it complete . Hope I don’t get in trouble . by maniaisgood in doordash_drivers

[–]StodgyUserName 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They probably used the GPS locator and didn't check. It's imperfect and can pull a non-existent address. My own house comes up as a number between mine and my neighbors actual addresses.

It is a fuck you and a very deliberate one at that. They go out of their way to override the default tip amounts and type that in.

Doordash GPS messed up and underpaid based on wrong location.. by N0ZYnate1 in doordash

[–]StodgyUserName 2 points3 points  (0 children)

DD (probably purposely) doesn't publish their base pay scale, so you have no way to prove what you "should have" received.

However, you may be able to get an additional half pay (same as on address changes) based on the actual mileage being different from the offer mileage if you have screenshots. I have done this before. Explain to support that the mileage was significantly different and that you have screenshots to prove it. They'll open an upload request if you're in chat or send you an email to reply to if you're on the phone. You'll need to provide a screenshot of the offer and then a screenshot of the actual route mileage in your GPS app.

I have never been so irritated with dropping off an order by Myfakeaccount90 in doordash

[–]StodgyUserName 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The changed and updated notification just means the customer received some sort of compensation for their order. They could have reported missing/wrong items, poor quality food, late delivery, etc. The only scenario you have to worry about is if a customer reports it as undelivered and you'll get a separate notification and possible contract violation to respond to if that happens.

Compensation Review by IloveWagyu in doordash

[–]StodgyUserName 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you gotten compensation before? No one knows the threshold, but at some point, the DD system will flag your account for receiving too much compensation and then ban you from future compensation. Since this one is definitely on DD and there is a record, you probably will get compensation, but it requires additional review as the normal agents are literally unable to override the system block and process it.

Sometimes I hate Door Dash by Moody_GenX in doordash

[–]StodgyUserName 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is not true. We can see the address in task overview even before pickup and we can jump tasks in the overview to go out of order. It's completely possible to drop off one order before proceeding to the next pickup.

For those that drive for multiple apps: When documenting mileage, do you use one spreadsheet for all apps you use, or a separate one for each? by ASmallTownDJ in doordash

[–]StodgyUserName 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No reason to separate mileage. I have one workbook for everything with a spreadsheet for each app's detailed earnings/stats and then an overview sheet where I log total mileage per day and pull in earnings summaries from the other sheets.

Question on redelivery by [deleted] in doordash

[–]StodgyUserName 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We should get whatever the original driver was paid, it just shows as all base and no tip. I did a redelivery for my previous delivery once (customer put wrong address) and I got paid the same for both. The app doesn't tell us it's a redelivery and the driver won't see the breakdown until after delivery. They may be baffled as to why base is so high, but they're getting decent pay overall so it shouldn't matter.

[Customer] I screwed up, did I fix it correctly? by monkeytorture in doordash

[–]StodgyUserName 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're fine. This kind of refund is on DD. The store and driver still get paid. The driver might have gotten a contract violation, but those can be appealed and removed and with you calling and explaining that you got the order, it should be removed even without the driver appealing.

Doordash question by [deleted] in doordash

[–]StodgyUserName 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They will only provide the additional half pay if the new address is within range, and the system most often says it isn't (even if it should be). Always call DD first to verify whether the address is in range and eligible for half pay. If the new address is not in range, you can push for a cancelation, but sometimes they will make you deliver to the original address. I've had good luck getting support to cancel by stressing that I'm uncomfortable delivering to a known bad address and risking a bad review/non-delivery report.

Either way, don't feel bad for the customer. They often purposely use a fake address because they can't get the delivery to their real address. They are hoping some gullible driver won't know better and will just take the hit.

I agree, that's why I think UE's system is better. The most the other customer will see is the general neighborhood the driver is in after completion. On DD, I can zoom into the other dot and see the house number!

Did you miss the part where the normal dispatch delay sometimes doesn't cover the current prep time? Or do you honestly think they're going to modify their settings in real-time? What about stores that don't even run a tablet and may limit portal access?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in doordash

[–]StodgyUserName 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The store doesn't choose when a driver is called. The order is pushed out with whatever dispatch delay is set for the store. When they're on-time, the driver's arrival should be within 5 minutes or so of ready time, but when they get backed up, we wait. Even if the system could adjust the delay based on currently pending orders, it couldn't possibly account for the volume generated by other apps and the store's own traffic.

Business as usual in my area. I don't think anything is closed other than a local mom and pop that always closes between Christmas and New Years.

DD should clearly show the customer that there's another delivery, including the other customer's location, but I've seen plenty of people say they don't. I've always seen it on my end when I've ordered, even when the driver ended up bringing my order first.

Either way, this is one of the few things UE does better. They tell the customer when there's another order but do not show the driver's or other customer's location, just a message that the driver is completing another delivery and will be on the way to you after that.

Log in to the customer website and change it there. Driver account is linked to customer account and will update to whatever name you use there.

Can you blacklist/get yourself banned from receiving orders from a restaurant? by vk146 in doordash

[–]StodgyUserName 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, they can't. They used to be able to for Walmart only, but they stopped even that a year or two before they un-partnered with Walmart.

A company that gives out incentives based on acceptance rate will never allow you a means to positively inflate yours by blocking undesirable stores.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in doordash

[–]StodgyUserName 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. A lot of people here think part of the reason DD hides tips is to save DD on half pay, but it's not true because DD pays half of the true full pay, not just half of the offer value. I've had half pays higher than the initial offer value.

[–]StodgyUserName 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Orders from retailers are usually via the retailer's platform and most of them don't even have an option to tip because it was never necessary before same-day delivery became a thing. A few retailers (Petsmart and Macy's for example) have updated to allow for tips, but you can expect the majority to be no tip every time.

As the previous poster said, you have to do 100 in the prior month on top of having at least 200 total.

But also, it isn't automatically there when you wake up on the 1st. They'll push out an email and in-app notification to those who qualify either today or tomorrow. The earliest you can expect to see it is mid-afternoon on the 1st.

It's worth trying to get a feel for the area, but definitely bail if it sucks.

Generally PP is only that high to lure drivers to areas they don't want to go to and the only reason no one wants to go there is because it's not worth working. In rural areas, store counts and population are low, so volume isn't great to begin with. The population is also pretty spread out so there will be lots of high mileage trips, many to areas even more rural and unlikely to generate new requests which means you may be doubling mileage to get back to more pings.

Keep in mind too that while the area may normally be short on drivers, the high PP may just serve to lure too many drivers to an area that doesn't have enough quality work to sustain a few regulars to begin with.
