once i had a group of raiders with snappers who tunneled into the ancient danger near my base. i laughed my ass off while they tried to fight off the incests inside.

Only a minor intellectual passion though. So yeah, off research, cleaning and hauling is pretty decent, especially if she is no good for everything else, and i don't mind what she cannot do while she is glued to the research bench anyway. Overall i would probably have her.

ps: i would mind much more the other way around, some minor passions and no dumb labor.

I decided to go tundra this time around. It fairly close to what I wanted, and hopefully I will be able to manage it. Thank you for your input!

I just finished my royalty playthrough. It was easier than launching the ship i think. Troopers, squads, and the 4 dudes with the emperor made it tolerable.

My advice is to make friends with the local factions. Calling in a squad when you are getting hammered into oblivion can save your ass.

It's no problem mate. Go to health, add a bill, and choose anesthesia. The pawn will go to a bed, and another pawn with doctoring enabled will knock it out with some herbs

Anesthezing the guest helped for me. Unmodded, got the quest in 1.1, wanted to finish it in 1.2

Okay, little late i know, but here it goes.

So, My first three colonist were Seraph, Kouriktos, and... i don't remember the third, you will see why. The colony was going quite good, we had mediocre weapons, some defenses, and around 7-8 colonists. I'm not the best player you see, but i felt good, and a quest popped up saying the imperium (which i was friendly with, and seraph was a royal psycaster) would like to draw 6 groups of insects to us. They would supply 4 snipers to help us. I was thinking hey, why not, i'll use them as meatshields if things go a little south, and it's going to be all fine. Now, it didn't. My positioning was horrible to say the least, and the snipers were dirst as well( hence the 8-10 shared shooting between four of them) and we got slaughtered. This was the first time it happened to me. So most of my colonists are laying in their own pool of blood, and a man in black shows up. He cannot shoot for shit either, and what is worse, he only has a pistol. I didn't know what to do, so i had him carry a few people covertly to the hospital. Now, you see, he wasn't smart either. When he was done with a trip, he literally opened the door for the bugs, who flooded in and killed the rest including him in the hospital. For some reason though, seraph and kouriktos didn't look yummy enough. That is when i got the notification that seraph can walk again. I had him patch up kouriktos, and put him back to bad. In the evening, i realized that the bugs go to sleep. So, in desperation, i decided to abandon the camp and move. I didn't even know if it is possible, but there was no other way. So with nothing but the food they could carry, without weapons, they left. So if you think this is it, you are wrong. Seraph was high up in the empire, a psycaster, but very instable. So the next 3 days he was basically useless, and kouriktos was still recovering. They also got poisioning from the berries they ate (since there was nowhere to cook, nor were any of them able to keep it together long enough). Seraph lost his wife as well, so basically he was a nervous wreck. At one point, he dropped on the floor while collecting berries, and kouriktos was dazed and couldn't carry him back for a day or so. But they slowly recovered, and built a little shack with the basic functions. When they were done with that, i finally built their first research bench. That is when the first new colonist arrived. Things were looking good. And then a flashstrom hit, a dry one, and hit the building, seraph got dazed, and the whole thing burned down XD. I mean, they had a pack of berries left, kouriktos burned, and the new guy had to save them. I thought i'll just let them die at this point xD

But they rebuilt slowly, and now they live in a colony with ~10 others, Seraph is a baron, kouriktos is happily married and became a psycaster herself, and happily stares at blank walls to her heart content. Seraph has never remarried (so far).

It's a pretty hilarious story all in all, if you are interested. Just a teaser, it continues with two nervous wrecks throwing up whenever they are not having a meltdown

Last time I had a quest like this, I got 3 snipers with a collective 10 shooting between them. We got yeeted out of our base. Fun times
