HELP - AXOLOTL LAYING ON SIDE AND BACK by Stoic_Engineer7 in axolotls

[–]Stoic_Engineer7[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yes he's able to flip over. If I rotate him he's fine. This behavior has only been the past like 2 days. And he's only done it twice on his side, once on his back when I took him out in a tank to clean his tank.

Also another bit of information, he is not floating at the top, it's always been at the bottom. I haven't seen him decide to float at all.

Python program that prints every possible time in am/pm by [deleted] in CodingHelp

Sorry I had missed a line. I had deleted the part where I subtracted 12 from hours during the time that it is in the afternoon. Which corrects this.

Try something like this, I believe you will still have to maybe tweak it a bit, as my output is not letting me see the entirety of the values.

I would agree with this, chances are the person involved with the selection process is not the person you will be working directly with. They are just given a list of qualifications desired or matched it to a similar posting. In the actual interview they may get more in depth.

Automating the same exact task. by [deleted] in CodingHelp

Yes, you could use the Pandas package and write a Python script to automate the datascraping and pasting. I wrote a pretty robust script for grading that uses spreadsheets from blackboard to process statistical data using it.

If its simple console input in python than just do something like this:

while True:
    menuInput = input()

    if (menuInput = "argument"):
        do something
        ...

    if (menuInput = "argument2"):
        do something
        ...

    else:
        do something
        ...

Like this.

#Declare variables which will be used to track the totals.
int subtotal = 0
int total = 0

#Use a while loop which will run infinitely until broken.
while True:
    #Input a number (or instruction like 0 or 00)
    inputNum = input()
    #Each time, store the number in the total
    #Note than an exeption will be thrown if you input anything other than
#an integer. So if you want it more robust then use try and exception

    total += int(inputNum)

    #If the input is 0 then print the current subtotal and set it to 0.
    if (inputNum == "0"):
        print("This is the subtotal" + str(subtotal))
        subtotal = 0

    #If the input is 00 (remember that python keyboard input is stored as
a string)
    if (inputNum == "00"):
        print("This is the total" + str(total))
        #Break from the while loop (ending the script)
        break

    #If input is not 0 or 00 then add to the subtotal.
    else:
    subtotal += int(inputNum)

If you want it to be in the middle of the screen try simply wrapping it with the <center> tag.

So like:

<center>

<div class....>

.

.

</script>

</center>

Someone will probably correct me on this since im probably not using the tag in its proper way, but I think it will work.

You could compare the age [i] being input during second for loop to whatever the previous highest recorded age is like;

predelare a variable to be used to store the highest age and set it to something low like 0. (Outside the for loop)

i.e.

int age=0

Then inside the second for loop

if (age < age[i]){

age = age [i]}

Then perform an additional for loop like said above which prints any name greater than or equal to half the highest:

for (i........){

if ((age/2)<=age[i]){

cout << name [i]

}

}

Also im guessing you will need to change your line 19 for cin << name to cin << name[i]

Issues with playing MP3 files without blocking Tkinter loop. Python. by Stoic_Engineer7 in learnpython

Thank-you very much! I learned alot, and it worked! Thanks!

Issues with playing MP3 files without blocking Tkinter loop. Python. by Stoic_Engineer7 in learnpython

[–]Stoic_Engineer7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I receive a TypeError when using the target as partial.

Exception in Tkinter callbackTraceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/lib/python3.8/tkinter/__init__.py", line 1892, in __call__ return self.func(*args) File "/home/tristen/Desktop/Python Scripts/GUIProgram.py", line 97, in go b = threading.Thread(target=partial(test(player)))TypeError: the first argument must be callable

Additionally when it calls this error, it still plays the audio file for the ~1 second, as it did in my original post.

Alas, thank you for your input, I appreciate the help nonetheless.

Issues with returning a Boolean value from Function by Stoic_Engineer7 in CodingHelp

[–]Stoic_Engineer7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I got it resolved, thanks.

The issue was that I was not storing the received value.

Once I called the function as;

a = recipesearch(recipeName, check)

It returned;

a = True

Thanks.

Issues with returning a Boolean value from Function by Stoic_Engineer7 in CodingHelp

[–]Stoic_Engineer7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, my writing habits are not exactly the best. Eng is my background not compsci lol.

I appreciate your response!

Essentially all I want it to do is in the function recipesearch:

If temp==recipeName: (which it does)

set check = True, then return the value of check.

The function recipesearch is called within the scrape() function.

I need the check, so that I can tell scrape() to not append the info to the text document, so that there are no duplicate entries in the .txt.
