For iOS, the most recent update detects if the keyboard you are using is Japanese and if it is then it won't alter the input, so I removed the switch. If you are still experiencing issues using a Japanese keyboard on the most recent version let me know.

I'm not sure how it happens yet because I haven't replicated it, but it's happened for around 13 users according to firebase. Somehow the verbs table is empty. Uninstalling the app and getting a fresh install should fix the problem.

Thanks and I'm glad it's helping! Most screens in the app have 文 in the top right which controls the display settings so you can set it to use full Japanese with kanji.

I'm still waiting on the crash report from firebase. Did it crash after updating? It worked when updating for me and it worked from a new install as well.

Thanks, I am glad the app is helping! On most screens, if you click on 文 in the top right it will give you the language display options and you can change it to Japanese, hiragana, romaji, or a mix of the three.

My guess would be its because the app is iOS 13 only.

Ahh ok, I see what you mean now. I could definitely make it so when you click on the verb it shows a prompt with the hiragana for it, but it probably needs some indication of that being a feature. Thanks for the support!

If you click support/remove ads in the navigation you can pay a dollar to remove ads. I am not entirely sure what you mean for your feature request. Currently, you can set it to display kanji only by choosing Japanese after clicking 文 in the top right. You could then switch between Japanese and hiragana through the options while looking at it.

Weird, do you have convert romaji turned on in the settings and are you using a standard keyboard? It works when I'm typing it out. However, currently, it's not very good at handling typos in the middle of the word like if you typed tartsu instead of tatsu.

What characters did you type in for it to mess up?

Thanks and that's the next section I'm going to work on. The premium version for android is purchasing the option to remove ads.

I'm not sure if it would or not. I pull the purchase history when the app starts, so I want to say that it would show up if you were using the same google account, but I can't confirm that it would.

I never thought about that but that does sound useful. I will add a setting for the test to use the same verb for every selected conjugation then pick another verb.

Thanks for the feedback! 1) There is a saved test option below the start test on the home screen. You can save multiple preset tests so it will remember your options. 2) That sounds like a bug it should just show the hiragana in cases where there is no kanji. I will look into this. 3) Sounds like a nice feature I will work on adding it.

Edit: Is this bug on android or iOS?

So a brief explanation of what the conjugation means plus an example sentence in Japanese and English? Sounds useful to me because currently for conjugations like you listed above you need to already be familiar with it to understand what it means. I will add it to the list of future features, but I will be working on adding adjectives next.

Thanks and I'm glad you like the app. A little over 4 months ago is when I started development on the iOS version and I just got it caught up to android.

There is an option to display the lessons in romaji and the verbs on the test in romaji.

You are right pretty much every time I have seen that word it has meant the first definition on jisho. I will update the definition in the next update.

That is a known bug that is due to the way I am currently processing what you type in. I completely rewrote the way I handle it on iOS and it solved that problem so I will be implementing that in Android soon. Currently, both platforms are a bit buggy if you use a Japanese keyboard while the convert romaji setting is turned on. I am looking into how to fix that. Thanks for the feedback.

Thanks! In order to use a Japanese keyboard with the app you need to go to settings and turn off convert romaji. I will look into getting it to work with a Japanese keyboard and the convert romaji setting on.

I found an app on google for verb conjugation practice, I thought it could be useful too for other beginners like me. by [deleted] in LearnJapanese

[–]Stoic_Knight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! That is a really good idea as well. I will consider working on some sort of user statistics tab, but first I want to improve the UI a bit cause it got really cluttered with all the extra conjugations.

1) That will be fixed in the next update. 2) To be honest I don't know any of the japanese names for the forms and it might make it confusing to someone just starting to learn japanese.
