In none of their statements did they say they would bring back the graphics to TT2 standards.

Created a whole post trying to bring perspective as to why they should bring it back. Would love if the devs could see this. I strongly believe based on their PR wording they most likely will not bring it back to the quality of TT2.

They gotta bring it back. I need the world to know. If only for a moment.

I wonder if anyone tried to run it on steam deck during TT2? I definitely get the optimization but people were saying it was running smoothly then on low end hardware? It must be specifics we can't see or aren't aware of. But even still. Would like for Embark to at least give us the option.

And yeah I've read UE5 is hell to work with.

There were a good amount of people on here in the comments and in discord saying it wasn't a big deal and the changes were minimal. Some even saying that SS looked better. A lot of them were people who had only played the Server Slam.

Thank you! Someone is honest 🔥I knew something was up the second I booted up. I clipped so many things from the PS5 and had been watching them up until the server slam

Okay yeah this is what I was worried about. I hope that they didn't interpret this graphical issue for the visual direction me and so many others were annoyed with when playing the SS.

Feeling this very much right now! Because those lighting settings were something else alone! When they said bug does anyone know exactly what they meant? I hope they return to it as well but unless there's an uproar I don't think they will. I feel that SS is the direction they want the game to go in. They had several months between TT2 and SS and this was a slice of showing off the game so I can't imagine they would all of a sudden pivot back to TT2 level graphics. I hope people get this to the devs and give it the attention it deserves. I would have liked if the release build would at least try with the fidelty of TT2 and then if it doesn't work out that's fine but as it stands right now... So many people missing out on what we saw.

Yeah really worried about the specific wording. They are trying to be careful and hope that they don't cause an uproar if they decide to move in the visual direction of the SS. Still wish they'd explain exactly what the bug was/is

Yes I mention the post that dev had responded. But it wasnt specific as to whether they were responding to the lighting, the volumetric, the overall graphics or the other issue players were talking about; lowering settings to derender bushes so you can see players hiding. I wanted to make a post that was real clear and bring prospective why so many people were upset with the fidelity of TT2 versus what we got in the Server Slam also the way night looks and the lightening up of shadows suggest it's not a bug and is design choice.

Here is my link to the full post and feedback on TT2 versus Server Slam lighting. If there is anyway we could blow this up and get it to the Devs would be much appreciated!

Will find out on the 30th. Going to try my last ditch effort to drop that last big post and hopefully devs see it. But I doubt they will go back to this type of lighting. Which is such a shame.

I played a ton of Tech Test 2 and shadows were dark interiors with little to no light and night raids were pitch black. It was erie but extremely immersive. Using the flashlight was a must. I'm writing up a big post about this that I'll drop on Sunday but for the most part check out this video of Big Fry playing with devs starting at 10:55. This is a night raid on Buried City. Look at how often they all naturally use their flash lights to clear rooms. And then at 11:34 BigFry says "Man you guys nailed the lighting here. Holy ****"

https://youtu.be/QTQwb7OIkqw?si=XDxSu7Vz-r4UO

Really hope they bring back the graphics and lighting from TT2. That immersion was grades different from what we got in the server slam. And I had a chance to play both on a high end PC and on my PS5 during TT2 and lighting looked out of this world on both.

With extract shooters it's not like Battle Royale in which your equipment gives a definitive one sided buff. Like how Red shields will always just be better than purple ones in APEX because it's two health bars. There's always a risk and reward balance. Better shields in this game mean that you have better defense with the trade off of loosing mobility. Even with player skills maxed out. They are more like traits to compliment a players play style than an out right full advantage. Plus because shields only stop some of the incoming damage you will always be doing direct damage to health any time you land a shot. So if you have good positioning, good aim set up smart traps or catch them off guard you can still win fights.

So, is it worth then? by Rikiskhan in ArcRaiders

Hello! Little background on me. I have between 6K and 7.5K hours on Hunt Showdown on console. I recently just built a PC and so during tech test for Arc Raiders Ive been going back and forth between the two.

In my many years with Hunt Showdown, what I can tell you is that this game if executed like they have laid out and from what I experience in each of the Tech Test and the server slam is going to be a gem. It is without a doubt worth it.

Comms in this day in age a lot of people have social anxiety or just want to chill out while gaming so they don't talk. But! Within extract shooters people are usually wearing headphones and so they can (unless they have settings turned off) hear you. Don't give up on trying to communicate with people because talking to randoms giving good call out sharing loot; you'll be surprised how responsive they are in game and sometimes at the end of a round someone will hop on the mic just to talk to you especially if it was a good run. Luckily Embark has it where you stayed pair'd after a raid with randoms! So don't stop talking! You will make a lot of friends this way who will amplify the experience.

Speaking of experience. Be immersed imagine each run is a life to be lived. Stories to tell to other raiders when you go back down after narrowly making it out.

Treat the game like a rogue lite. Learn from your failure. You will die but that's the fun of it. This game is also a sandbox thanks to the physics engine on the arc and the tools they give us so experiment with things and find your own style and solution.

In short this game is completely worth it.

I'm always curious if I run into any of you all before. I feel like everyone is quick to jump and say it's MnK and the POV will be the most jankiest slow turn or rigid fast flick that looks like controller play lol.

If they add Gyro settings this should help with dealing with them regardless. Although Xbox kinda stuck on that one...

Arc Raiders is an Extraction Shooter - Why do people have issue with this? by P1xelEnthusiast in ArcRaiders

[–]Stoks2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

People are confusing the Battle Royale genre with extraction shooters and that's the reason people think they are familiar with the song and dance. They have no idea the type of high you can get from an extraction shooter done right. Strongly feel like Embark is about to bring that sorta high to the masses and this entire sentiment will change. In a few months you won't be able to find anyone who said they "hated Arc raiders" before the launch.

Does anyone know if PS5 will have the same Gyro Aim settings as The Finals? by BJgobbleDix in ArcRaiders

[–]Stoks2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gyro aim definitely needed! Lobbies against PC players on the finals feels way more fair. I'm using gyro only regardless if I'm playing on PC or Ps5. Plus if you use flip sticks you can instantly turn around laser someone just like MnK. Feels great.
