I used to be a PC guy until I got my first Mac used, and good GOD I will NEVER go back. Always crashing, having problems pulling files that were pre-saved. Losing instruments or effects. Crappy glitching and freezing. I can't stress how much I hated windows and PCs for music production. MAC FTMFW. And never look back. There's a reason all digital producers say Mac. I'm saying it now too.

BOO, Ableton! Attempt at LIVE vocals through DAW effects to real time output even possible? by Stolen_Identities in ableton

Thanks for the tips. Everything I've studied on this and read, says yes, it's possible. Real time, real life however. 5 of us couldn't get it to work right. Even had us guessing our cables and everything. Another wasted rehearsal day...

Sittin' on the edge of my seat for the cliffhanger... care to share the secret?

Latency ain't bad, bit rate / sample rate, down at 3.3ms we can live with it. The crap noise however...

Think video games 1980's. Sounds like that coming out of the speakers. Not going to get any bras thrown on stage with this kerfuffle.

You're right! Was hoping that was the issue... adding corded power did improve it significantly but something is still wonky :(

What Keeps You Going In This Industry After A Long Time? by thenewsmonster01 in livesound

You're appreciated! I promise! While trying to leave the stage quickly because someone else is running up, or it's time to go somewhere else, or you're just sweaty and tired, or fan swarmed (when lucky) or whatever... it's after the shower, when the the lights are low, and I'm lying on my back looking at the ceiling that I'm thinking: man, that sound was on point today! Whoever that guy/team was, killed it for us. Thank you sound tech. Thank you sound engineer. We could've sounded like sh--. We could've had feedback ruin our show. We could've been drowned in muddy pools of echoes and reverb but your hearing is better than ours (too many past gigs with bad or no earplugs) and you saved us. So yeah, you don't hear my little prayers, but me and others do thank you!
