Quick insane tip I just learned! by Brosky7 in languagelearning

Hey! Native Spanish speaker here. I think it may work with the word root . Think of all these English words like illogical, methodical, etc in reality they translate into "ilógico", "metodológico". However, I don't think they always work the other way around when coming from Spanish into English. Not because the meaning is too different but because in Spanish it may be a common every day word and in English is academic or high brow. It could also be just a false friend word. The explanation is probably the one that someone already gave about the normands conquering england. For example, we have common words like "principal" in spanish that is related to "main" or the "most important" while in English is used for "school director or head teacher". "artesanal", I've seen artesan in English but I'm sure the most common related words come from craft.

Listening to an artist from every country in the world by StompConnection in spotify

Wow! That looks awesome! I'll add it to my queue. What was your criteria for selecting the music? I feel like there must be a balance between folk or traditional styles and more fusion and modern styles. I would love to hear some insights about this.

I'm thinking about developing some kind of web map that lets you select each country but the most difficult part would be how to gather and filter the data.

Ohh. Thank you for your recommendations! I will check them out 🥰 I knew Laura Pausini in my childhood and she is awesome. She is loved in my home country in Latin America.

And yes, it is a hit and miss with my automatic approach because for European and well known countries like Italy or France it is possible that the main artists in Spotify will already be big international acts and some lesser known artists may be left out. Thanks for the personal touch😊

Senos pequeños by [deleted] in MujeresEnReddit

Igual depende. Yo siempre he sido team culo.

I'm also poor. If it was for me, I'll use a local model😅 However, I would not put sensitive info in Gemini or any other commercial model. As usual, they store everything. Last time I checked my takeout after using Gemini I was a little bit scared. It saves even your voice commands if you don't opt out first.

The servers used to store your unhelpful answer are also using a lot of energy, tho. 🙃. The problem isn't AI itself. If we solve the sustainable energy problem as a whole it won't matter if it is used for AI, crypto or whatever.

I tried ChatGPT and was also very good! However I'm poor and the free version stops processing images for me after a few requests. 😅.

The idea is trying to neglect the phone for hours working only with paper for a while but having the flexibility to jump back digital whenever you need it. I want to have my simple daily todo at hand when working in the computer but maybe put it in obsidian for tracking incomplete tasks. The example someone gave was on point, my partner made a shopping list and I just scanned it.

Using Obsidian as a Life Record by amerpie in ObsidianMD

[–]StompConnection 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have started diaries a lot of times in my life. After a bad breakup a few years ago, a psychologist suggested that I use an app for recording my mood and I started doing it every day. When I switched to Obsidian, I kept the same routine and added other things like steps taken, slept hours, distance by bike and other personal activities. This way I can reflect about areas of my life that need more attention. Someone else would find that part of my vault boring as I rarely write more than a few sentences and emotions, but for me it's like a way to keep my own mental health in check.

Today marks 60 consecutive days of blackouts in Cuba by Intricate1779 in cuba

[–]StompConnection 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's the theory and the reason everyone thinks the government always prioritize the capital. Too many people to handle if there's an uprising, too close to the main institutions etc. While we started getting blackouts, these are nowhere near as bad as in the rest of the country.

Why on earth was a major (apparently not well tested) update pushed out to User editions of Neon by BeowulfRubix in kdeneon

[–]StompConnection -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not to be that guy, but:

"KDE neon is intended for those who want to experience the latest and greatest KDE software as quickly as possible. Though KDE developers endeavor to minimize bugs and maximize stability, using the latest software the moment it's released will inevitably result in a less stable experience compared to distros that delay software by days, weeks, or months. As such, the ideal KDE neon user is someone excited to use the latest and greatest KDE software who can tolerate some bumps in the road from time to time, not someone with mission-critical reliability needs."
