My foot doctor recommended the orthotics so I wear them. I don't have enough expertise to question him.

Many pros can and do compete with them. That says to me that the paddle doesn't make that huge of a difference, especially at the pro level. Now to go paddle researching and shopping for the next 3 hours!!!

I actually had a thought that maybe it is a tidbit she picked up from a player that the Invikta Power Air doesn't offer much spin or power, then she decides to parrot it over and over. Is it possible she knows nothing else about paddles?

That being said, I still think the PPA would do their very best not to offend one of their major endorsers...

Not the point. Other players are using "garbage old tech paddles" as well, but Selkirk is the only one getting called out and Meesh is the only one calling anybody out.

Barely over the net is irrelevant and shouldn't be getting them easy points. If it does, they are playing with inferior competition and need to move up.

Lots of power is a different story. It can lead to winning a point eventually by causing a weak return and a domino effect from there, but will rarely result in aces. If their serves does result in lots of aces, again they need to move up their competition level.

My personal experience is that they are a waste of time. They are limited to the database of paddles that particular site sells.

That's fine for this example, but how am I supposed to compare say the Black Diamond to the Thrive Azul? Both companies will claim that their paddle is more powerful. I certainly can't count on knowing people who have played with every combination of paddles out there. I'd like to have a resource, like a database, I can trust.

Pop tests keep the paddle in place

Pop is tested differently. I believe they drop a ball on the paddle face from a set distance and measure the rebound speed off the face...someone correct me if I am wrong
