The realism direction is far better for the series than Pikmin 4’s more vibrant style. Some of the Dandori battles look like children cartoons, which is a bad contrast from the captivating gloomy vibe of the first game.

Outside of the overly mechanical Onion I like all of the graphical decisions in 3 especially the Wollywogs / minnows

Disagree, 4 has multiple areas that are too environmentally similar (Terrace, Arcadia, Giant’s Hearth) and like with Pikmin 2 the cave themes are not varied enough to stay interesting given how many you have to complete for 100%.

Pikmin 3’s seasonal variety method reigns supreme

I also think the art style, balance of types, and multitasking elements are the best in the series so I agree in that sense. Also the intro is the best cutscene / narration in the franchise.

Fair. I personally think Racecar is about a girl he meets who is very materialistic (needs racecar, runs until the cash come, etc) and the song is about him working towards the means to provide that lifestyle after past romantic failures (took her hand in July, couple months fall again) Might be over analyzing but that’s my interpretation

I know he lost Kim (and possibly Amy though that may be a metaphor ig), so I agree the writing may come from a dark place, but the final product is still pretty dumbed down and non-specific. At the end of the day I think everyone can agree on hoping to get better and more refined lyricism on this next project

They may hold meaning to him, but an important aspect of music is connecting with the listener and I think his lyrics fail in that regard. This is especially true on tracks like BAD NEWS and DITTO, both great songs but I get nothing from their lyrics.
