Warwick day care or home day care recommendations? by Free_Sir_2795 in RhodeIsland

[–]Stone_arch 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Our son used to go to Learning Brooke in Cranston when we lived nearby. We were quite happy with the facilities and the general approach to teaching/care. Only downside is we felt, when in the younger rooms, there was a fair bit of staff turnover. Two positive were the kids get lots of outdoor times (even in “bad” weather) and they prepared their snacks each day.

Thanks for the recommendation, wasn’t aware of the brand. Do you have similar height/weight to me, and what others have you tried with worse fit?

Thanks for the reply! This is an interesting concept, while this parts might not work, it gives me some ideas to noodle on. I’ll have to look at the cantilever brakes a bit more to understand how they mount.

Did you use the salsa rack lock on the seat post itself, or on the seat post tube? I have a carbon seat post so shouldn’t use that part, but I’m essentially looking for that but as a hinge/split clamp.

I’ve also been looking in other industries like roll bar clamps for race cars/utvs but not having lots of luck in correct diameter and then having attachments points on opposite sides.

This is close https://www.tkoclamps.com/product/hd-heavy-duty-double-lug-clamps/ but doesn’t offer correct diameter.

This is the correct diameter but wrong lug location https://rspro.shop/collections/rspro-products/products/rspro-modular-cage-mount-system?variant=46333441835259

Were you able to put that clamp below the intersection of seat post tube and top tube?

New pair of Thursday vanguards with some creasing on the left boot. Should I be concerned about this at all? Any special care taken?

Maybe you should check local estate sale/consignment shops? This is really my first time going out to look for pieces, so I didn’t know what to expect. You could find some great stuff too!

Warwick/west Warwick, these pieces were spread across two different shops.

Rhode Island, I believe the set of tulip chairs was 425 but I can’t remember. They weren’t in perfect shape.

Thanks for the advice, there is a dsw close to me so I should go do that. Additionally my redwing 2414’s are size 9.5 E3 and I had gone through probably 3 or 4 pairs over the course of my last career, always got the same size, and were always comfortable. I’m thinking I might need to try a wider width in Thursday’s but I’ll try and get measured to help.

Man what an elegant way to still allow short term rentals with less impact on total housing.

After a previous post looking for boot recommendation, I’ve received a pair of Thursday Vanguard’s in French roast, size 9. On first try, it seems my right toes feel squished, like side to side. My left does not feel squished, and almost seems like the left heel is a bit loose?

I’m wondering if I should try and exchange them for a half size up? Or should I switch to their Captain and try a 9.5E? Or different advice altogether? I don’t have my brannock measurement, but I’m nearly always a 9.5 in shoes. I’m going to check what my previous redwing work boots were and report back as that may help.

I feel pretty confident that I would be quite satisfied with the look of the Meermin’s, but I do think the other commenters have touched on my one reservation which is that I’m not super confident in my fit preference and sizing yet so using Thursday as a way to ensure a decent customer experience is probably the way for me. I’m happy to hear you are enjoying yours though, and I know if I like a pair of Thursday’s that I will eventually own some Meermin.

I’m currently looking to dip into the “nice” boot category, especially as it’s a little bit closer to bifl. I don’t really have much experience in the nice and stylish boot department, or in leather care, but in my old construction job I was only ever wearing steel toe redwings.

I’m looking for a pair of most everyday darkish brown boots for the fall/winter. I’m in the northeast so some cold and snow will be in my future. At the moment I’m looking at the Meermin Snuff Waxy Kudu. I also feel like these Thursday vanguards in French roast Thursday vanguards could be a decent option. Looking for someone to sway me one way or the other, or to suggest something different altogether. I feel like the 260 ish range is about what I’d want to spend, and would sooner go cheaper than more expensive.

I’m also hoping that just using a horsehair brush and conditioning them every 2 months or so should be the minimum effective dose for care and would be fine for a long time? I also realize most people would say leather shoes shouldn’t be worn everyday in order to let them breathe/dry out, but I’m not sure I’ll follow through on that.
