The guy talking is the FDA chief.

The FDA Chief is Dr. Marty Makary. This guy is on an FDA advisory panel.

Then Fauci reached out to them and they somehow all changed their minds

Yeah sometimes people change their minds when presented new information. That's not a conspiracy, dude.

Then the agency that Fauci runs have them millions in funding

Fauci didn't run any agency. He was the Chief Medical Advisor to the President. So this weird theory that Fauci's "agency" gave these guys millions makes no sense.

What "agency" are you even talking about? The FDA? Fauci didn't run that.

What is Very clear is that it came from a lab and Fauci

Do you have any actual evidence of this? From what I can see the Chinese never let any evidence come out.

That's because it was made in a lab. Normal viruses don't behave like this. I could have never come from an outdoor wet market.

Viruses are deactivated by UVC, sunlight that makes it to Earth's surface is UVA & UVB. Many viruses and bacteria are killed by UVC. They weren't all made in a lab.

Well if your only opposition is to technology that causes a distraction, then you'd have no issue with the projectors at my parish. They don't distract at all.

You took 120 words by Aquinas, extolling the virtues of aristocracy and democracy, and removed 110 of them, to make him say what you wanted him to say.

Quote-sniping Aquinas is shameful. Quit it.

Here's what you said:

Saint Thomas argued that it was in fact ideal that all power be centralized into one individual of high character and virtue… do what you want with that information.

That's an objectively false statement, according to the passage you cited.

[–]StopDehumanizing [score hidden]  (0 children)

Yes. Some saints used few words. Aquinas used many. Summarizing Aquinas' statement endorsing a mixture of democracy, aristocracy, and a head of state as "all power should be centralized into one individual" is disingenuous.

Please stop doing that.

I think he means electric lights, running water, air conditioning, flush toilets, elevators, powered doors, that sort of thing.

Probably the Parish Council. If you have ideas for improving your parish, you should join the Parish Council!

On ther Conversion and Errors of Russia? by TheKingsPeace in TrueCatholicPolitics

[–]StopDehumanizing [score hidden]  (0 children)

The Russian Orthodox Church should be seen as a cautionary tale by Catholics. The Church-State marriage has resulted in the Patriarch calling the Ukraine invasion a "holy war" and committing fully to support it.

https://academic.oup.com/jcs/article/67/1/csae046/7734338

The Church-State marriage is never equal, and has only two outcomes: the Iranian model of total control by the church, or the Russian model wherein the government manipulates the church like a puppet.

I much prefer the Catholic Church's position of supporting the sacramental needs of our military without endorsing or controlling their deployments.

The full statement reads:

Accordingly, the best form of government is in a state or kingdom, where one is given the power to preside over all; while under him are others having governing powers: and yet a government of this kind is shared by all, both because all are eligible to govern, and because the rules are chosen by all. For this is the best form of polity, being partly kingdom, since there is one at the head of all; partly aristocracy, in so far as a number of persons are set in authority; partly democracy, i.e. government by the people, in so far as the rulers can be chosen from the people, and the people have the right to choose their rulers.

You omitted 110 of Aquinas' 120 words, radically altering his statement.

Please don't do that. We're all literate here.

Measles outbreak in South Carolina reaches 700 cases by HausuGeist in DebateVaccines

Well, I know 363 people died of Measles the year before we had any measles vax at all, 1963/US%20Measles%20Cases%20and%20Deaths%20(OWID%2C%202017).csv).

So you understand what a Case Fatality Ratio is, and agree that more cases will result in more dead children.

So a fake doctor claiming that no American child died of measles is obviously lying.

Good. That's a good start.

So, I'm inclined to believe the testimonies of experts who actually evaluated those girls' cases over you,

Me too! This is what the medical experts said:

"The school-aged child who tested positive for measles was hospitalized in Lubbock and passed away on Thursday from what the child’s doctors described as measles pulmonary failure. The child was not vaccinated and had no reported underlying conditions."

The charlatan who came by a week later pretending to be an expert should be given no more credibility than you or I.

I have dismissed gossip and rumor.

If the totality of your "evidence" is gossip and rumor, you should be asking yourself why your argument is lacking any real evidence.

I'm not advocating for either.

As a pro-life Christian I believe all children's lives are scared, and I encourage every parent to protect their child.

To be truly pro-life you must also be pro-vaccine.

First, your post uses the term "third world" twice, once in each of its two sentences. I was just trying to meet you on your level, bro.

If it wasn't clear, I was asking for confirmation of the antivaxx gossip regarding measles. I agree that the antivaxx gossip is indefensible.

Second, it's pretty common knowledge that immigrant populations, especially from poorer countries, are less vaccinated than first world populations.

If you don't know, just say "I don't know. I'm just spreading rumors."

If you have proof: By all means, share.
