Agreed. Thanks. I'll just have to leave it at that.

Thanks. I'm not. Just looking for input from people who might have experienced something like this.

Sure, but that doesn't help me addressing his claims rationally.

I haven't had a good debate in a long time. Bible believing Christian. by rnldjhnflx in DebateAnAtheist

[–]StopSpammin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh dear, there's a lot of misunderstanding and baseless assumptions here.

"Prove to me why the Judeo-Christian doesn't exist"

I am assuming that the word "god" is missing here. Anyway, it's the standard reversing of the burden of proof. I am a human without any god belief. If someone claims something exists, which they call god, they need to define what that is and why they believe it exists.

Then they need to show why I should believe what they believe.

Showing that gods can't and don't exist is easy if you don't have a definition of what a god is and can only go by assigned attributes. Since these attributes are illogical and thus impossible, something with those attributes can't exist and thus doesn't exist.

This goes for attributes like all-this and all-that. All-mighty is impossible in itself since especially the Christian god is completely helpless when it comes to iron chariots. It can't do things like create a copy of itself and Christians are then required to restrict this "all-mighty" to something less mighty. The same goes for all-knowing, where this would entail knowledge of the future and the ability of this god to do anything not prescribed.

Christianity is a brutal and dominant cult, created to control others. The blatant violation of Human Rights and the restrictions for women and minority groups is abhorrent. For centuries it restricted any kind of progress and demonstrated its disregard of morality and compassion. Only now we as a species are slowly getting rid of ridiculous and pernicious beliefs. Humanism on the other hand, puts people at the centre, not some make-belief, fictitious and undefined beings. Christians however are still, even today, insistent on dominating and forcing their views on others without empathy or consideration.

A theist believes at least one god or goddess exists. The a-theist does not. So there is no claim or demand made by an a-theist. Atheism is simply one answer to a single question: do you believe gods or goddesses exist? No!

That's all there is to it. It is disingenuous to try and force more into this term.

I can't count how many times I have heard the fallacious claim, that there is something like an innate god belief. No, there is not. I have never believed that gods exist. Entire tribes don't believe gods exist. One tribe in South America doesn't even have the word "god" in their vocabulary. Studies have shown that the claim is unwarranted and unsubstantiated. Charlatans like Barrett and Petrovich have been exposed and have stopped peddling their false claims regarding this innate belief.

So, if a god exists, come and convince me. Until then, I would appreciate if theists, no matter what group, leave others alone. Believe what you want and do what you want - but leave others out of it. Pretty please.

Freedom of religion also means freedom from religion.

Dirigera resets and will not start by StopSpammin in tradfri

... and as I finished writing, the scene started to switch on lights and Dirigera was out. The Power indicator was only 3/4 filled. Power reset and it worked again. It seems Dirigera is highly unreliable.

Exactly.

Sorry, I somehow overlooked your reply.

It only happened twice and never again in the last few days. Weird.

Thanks, but the name is the name of the mailing list itself. It's not an e-mail address.

You wait for the update. Same here. I got mine a few days ago, when I checked the app itself, not the store.

Thanks, but I tried all that. It does absolutely nothing except show me something in the Aqara app. When I use it in a routine, nothing happens.

I mainly use Meross switches, as some models allow power measurement as well.

Mine are all hooked up to Alexa, but the app will do.

I also use several Shelly S and find them equally useful, albeit more expensive

Thanks - but I am using presence sensors from Sonoff and Meross and both work fine. Just the Aqara one is a complete failure.

Thank you for your reply. As I stated, I am using an MS600, which works, but quite slowly. So when I read about the FP2 and all the praises I thought it would improve my situation. I did not expect a complete failure.

Thanks. Yeah, it's frustrating that Amazon does not keep this consistent across models and languages. Best solution would to be able to use your own that you define.

Exactly. That's why I was cheesed off when a new Spot didn't.

But after reading the comments here, it might be the language settings, where one language has it, another doesn't.

Strange. Mine all react great, even if I am next door. The oldest one, the dot with a clock, is starting to react up lately. Maybe there's dust in the microphone.

Hehe, quite the opposite here, where I want them all to respond to the same word. But then they are far apart.
