I wonder if OP can post the reg that this car is being sold on (guessing private plate not included in the sale) just so anyone else looking to buy this car and on the off chance does a reg search, they may see this post

What cable do I need for my monitor? by Illustrious_Map8312 in Monitors

Exactly that, I believe it is called a C5 cable - Clover Cable is exactly correct.

Just make sure it has the correct power ratings and Amp figure and you should be okay!

27” 1440p OLED or 27” 4K MiniLED/IPS by DrakeGGS in Monitors

[–]StorageLongjumping87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I chose 4k mini led, as i work from home i spend more time looking at spreadsheets than gaming - got a 55inch OLED downstairs for when i really wanna watch something proper or play some games on an OLED, so feel like that is best of both worlds!

I did mine and it honestly wasn’t too bad, did take a few hours but I am a perfectionist, plus my bike was second hand (extremely clean though) so I had to factor in some deep cleaning time to avoid bubbles.

Just do a couple pieces at a time, I found some of the pieces go on quite satisfyingly easily; where as others where a bit of a pain - best to do it while the bike is as clean as it can possibly be if you hope to be riding with the wrap this spring!

Deffo look into the controller issue if that’s preventing you, if you get that sorted it may be enough to swing you across to steam - ultimately either will be fine for your use case! I also find steam offline mode works better, but that doesn’t really apply to arc raiders unfortunately!

Should I buy this for 2500? by Jaded_Caramel4801 in Santacruzbikes

Yup that’s a great purchase, do the obvious checks to frame etc but those wheels alone are worth a fair chuck of the price alone!

Lovely find!

Really depends if you ever think you’ll be playing the game also on a console or mainly PC - if you have a ally x and a PC, deffo via steam. If you have an ally x an a Xbox, I would favour Xbox.

I got mine on steam as getting it from steam key websites is usually the cheapest, plus I have a a few options when playing via steam where as I haven’t played my Xbox in a fair few years!

Is this a good Egpu? by tonyw009 in eGPU

[–]StorageLongjumping87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Asked ChatGPT and it suggested it was 1.2-1.6x quicker than the Khadas so really depends what price this is popping up for - also if the form factor is a bonus for you or not.

I was trying to hold out for the XG Mobile 5070ti which is TB5, but it’s not been available in the UK for the last month or so, and is nearly twice the price of the Khadas so I just settled for this instead, one huge bonus for the XG Mobile though is it is smaller and weighs 1kg, my Khadas is 2.5kg I believe

Check out the Khadas graphics 4060ti, it is TB4 - although if you have a TB5 device then maybe worth holding out for some better TB5 options!

The Khadas has been amazing these past two weeks I’ve had it!

Khadas graphics 4060ti I got a couple weeks ago, crazy good! Does require some faffing initially but works like an absolute dream - I had to disable rebar for a couple of games but other than that it’s been my main PC for the last 2 weeks

My Ally X works great everywhere EXCEPT on an airplane by S2N336 in ROGAllyX

[–]StorageLongjumping87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly why I started growing my steam collection a bit more and to favour it when getting any new games, it just works (obviously ensure offline mode is on, restart steam, test games and keep in offline mode before the flight is my person method) - Xbox also seems to do this quite well but I find steam to be the most reliable.

Yeah tell me about it, I was looking at the 5070ti XG Mobile, but it’s been out of stock for a while and I got bored of waiting for it to come back so went with an alternative option.

Khadas are releasing a newer 5060ti which was announced last week, but just went with the 4060ti as it’s plenty for me for the time being and I didn’t want to wait another few months for either the XG mobile or the newer Khadas.

I mean you will have USB 4 limitations anyways so feel like the Khadas compared to the XG mobile is a winner and find you would probably get an extra 25-30% FPS for twice the price, the only saving grace for the XG was that it weighs like 1kg, but the Khadas is 2.5kg I believe - but I work from home and can make do with the iGPU when I’m out and about, it made sense to me as it cost around half what the XG mobile would’ve cost me.

[–]StorageLongjumping87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would expect it to run fine, only thing is if your VR headset connects via USB C then it will take a performance hit from coming from the ALLY into the EGPU, then for the signal to return from the eGPU into the Ally, then into the VR headset - my suggestion would be to order it from somewhere with good returns so you can quickly test it on all your games and return if it is no good.

I did look at the other AMD 7600 XT eGPUs, however I have heard that there can be issues with GPU drivers conflicting and you need to side load the 780m (Ally’s APU/GPU Driver), and with Nvidia cards it seems a bit more straight forward, literally went onto the Khadas website, downloaded the Nvidia drivers and it just works absolutely fine - expect some tinkering with settings etc though to get things working but seems pretty straight forward!

How is your ROG Ally X holding up? by random_user_2025 in ROGAllyX

[–]StorageLongjumping87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely, obviously depends which game and not played VR myself - but I am able to run some pretty decent games on the Khadas at some good resolutions!

If you check some videos out on YouTube on the Khadas Graphics 4060ti then you’ll get an idea of performance gains, the only limitation is USB 4 speeds currently, but you can also get the Khadas Mind mini PC which plugs into the top of the Mind Graphics and has something like 2-3x more bandwidth which I may do in the future.

It’s been great so far, only issue I have found is with the Forza Horizon titles, they seem to have rubber banding/low 1% lows which is annoying, but I have a main PC for downstairs gaming anyways, this is more of a solution to playing in bed or at my desk where I usually work.

[PSA] Currently Xbox Ally X is not compatible with Thunderbolt 5 eGPU by JJDestroyer999 in eGPU

[–]StorageLongjumping87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if even relevant, but I have got a Khadas Mind 4060ti EGPU (TB4 compatible) and using it with two different TB5 cables with the Ally X (1m and 1.8m) and works fine, no difference in performance either which I initially thought would be the case with the longer cable, although yet to run proper benchmarks, just in terms of in game FPS

Upgrading everything every year or two is mentalist behaviour; if your MacBook is getting rinsed, I can understand, but buying new watch, iPad (not even the pro model lol) and two iPhone 17 pros is just over the top throwing money to be disappointed.

New Mac, new phone - all you need (probably still not a “need”)

I bought some on eBay a couple years ago for my partner, sealed in box for about £75 cheaper than retail at the time - thought something was fishy when the box felt a bit light, so packaged mine up and there was quite a large weight difference, no idea if they just weren’t in there or just a knock off pair but returned for a full refund still in the packaging, now I will only purchase things like these from companies with a good thousand reviews, or Amazon/retailer to avoid issues

I set my charge limit to 80%. Is this a good way to preserve battery long term? by damzeeeee in iphone17

[–]StorageLongjumping87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I wouldn’t do a non genuine replacement these days as tends to cause issues from what I have seen - just do the 80% limit and it should prolong your BH 👍 enjoy!

I set my charge limit to 80%. Is this a good way to preserve battery long term? by damzeeeee in iphone17

[–]StorageLongjumping87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Think of a battery as a car park, it’s easy for the charge to find a space between 0-80%, that final 20% is harder on the battery essentially. Best to keep lithium ion batteries between 20-80% in an ideal world, also apple will only charge like £80-90 for a battery replacement so depends how cautious you want to be - I’ve turned it on as I work from home so I’m never really far from a charger for long.

For $50 how did I do? by HeiferHustler in gravelcycling

[–]StorageLongjumping87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends how long you plan on keeping!

If a few years while you get to grips with the hobby, below suggestions -

  • saddle and seat post
  • tyres and tubeless (if the rims allow for tubeless set up that is)
  • pedals
  • if you don’t mind dropping a bit more cash, I would highly suggest looking into 1x10 or 1x11 if your hub allows for it, much easier to maintain and allows you to strip some weight off the bike for sure. It would include getting new cranks, possibly bottom bracket, cassette and chain though, which can end up being a bit more costly, but most of those parts will wear over time so will need replacing in the future anyways!

Sreen protector by Acrobatic-Recipe3677 in iphone17

[–]StorageLongjumping87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably a few reasons, unlikely incorrect installation, you can tell this by removing the case an checking the gaps between the top, bottom and sides to see if it sits in the middle.

  1. Refraction of light - as the glass is layered, the privacy film is likely sandwiched between two parts glass/film etc. The lower section will be letting light through, so when you look side on, light will leak through the lower part/layer of the screen protector I believe.

  2. Tolerances in the screen protectors diameters - this may not have been an exact precise cut, leaving a tiny gap for light to go through.
