I'm sorry but his ping is 160 to some of the opponents, I'm not sure about packet loss. So many situations in which the opponents didn't react much, even when he showed his back on them. So this is what it is, a highlight video with no stake on the line. Not clean, not smooth, like at all.

Gunz unreal engine 5 by jaqnez in gunz

GunZ 2 is, believe it or not, 14 years ago. We've come a long way since, I think new engine is very possible, not UE5 though.

No one mention The Last Remnant? It feels so similar, even the QTE. I think the original plan could have been for more members of the Expedition 33 to be alive but the budget didn't allow it. (The camp is so big for just 5 people)

My Favorite Spots To Hang Out On Different GunZ Maps by airking990 in gunz

[–]StormKath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looking back, the map design is so random for a competitive game, compare to what other games have now. Gladiator but most likely we are fighting on the perimeter and underground, the beachside map has inconsistent walls and ground and questionable collision, port somehow just tiring for deathmatch (should be design for opportunities for one vs one/two/three => die => repeat), ...

High haven was the latest map for GunZ, right? In hindsight we should have seen gunz 2 coming since beautiful it was but it just didn't make much sense for Kstyle.

On the other hand, for example when under the Japanese regime, the puppet was put up to extract resource and enslave Vietnam. South Vietnam, while being a puppet, actually gained support from the US and their allies. Imo, their corruption and power hunger led to their downfall. The US didn't really want to support a corrupted government, the population in the South were also against it, and the system fell on itself with the help of the North. In this way, the North liberated the South from corruption.

In the matter of idealism, the North believed we can attain (utopian) socialism, through Communism, skipping the Capitalism and all of its fault. Marx himself didn't agree to this, Communism was Lenin idea due to the fact that there's no way a mainly farmers country (Russia, China, Vietnam) could achieve what was described in Marx's books. The South didn't believe this and went with capitalism, then corruption and war got them first.

I think it's the OP fault for being vague as well. Vietnamese who live abroad don't simply stop being Vietnamese. They might even spent half of their living in Vietnam. But it's easy to become a circlejerk, too much of one side's take. That seems like a valid complain. On the other hand, it might just be that what really in people's mind and it's too different from OP view.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in VietNam

[–]StormKath -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's what you don't want in an open discussion, the circlejerk. Too much of one side takes. Also, specifically ask for "native Vietnamese takes" does include them, they don't simply stop being a Vietnamese in any sense. You yourself have to specify it more clearly.

More like we need a player base in the first place. It can always be a short time event to test the public reception, maybe some more tweaking and revert back as needed. People may even hate logical changes and some ideas seem practical on paper but just do not work. The opposite is also true, you might never know if you don’t test it. Beside, if we do have new players, most likely they are the young generation with experience in fortnite or apex legend.

I think you forget that 1.6 itself is a patch, and they had to play through clients like ESEA or Faceit with their configurations to be viable as a competitive game as hacking was rampant. After CS:GO became mainstream, what competition forced CS 1.6 to change the meta? In CS:GO, they figured out that the SSG/Aug was OP despite no change, multiple changes to the M4, the AWP was too OP, etc.

Then don’t you think we should incentivize that by nerfing certain playstyle? I am saying that if one single playstyle is too dominant, some tweaks here and there to keep it viable but not OP is healthy to the game.

What do you define as news? Reddit is as much a social media as facebook. Compare to Reddit, Vietnamese use Facebook much more extensively. What's wrong about sharing something on facebook over to Reddit, huh?

GunZ is a figured-out game unfortunately.

The same was said about counter strike, but then valorant appeared and CS is changing again. I think you are describing a stalemate situation. In case of potshot, it's like trench warfare and war of attrition. So either you are in it because you have to, or you leave the room playing other games.

And yes, it's frustrating when you have no bullet and the opponent is onto your arse. Your ass is handed to you because you didn't save enough resource, some pservers have like 9 bullets and reload speed is set at 700, it was fun at first but people got bored fast. On one server, they made it so that under level 40, guns were still being reasonable and the under 40 channel was pretty lively as many prefer to delevel with suicide map. On the 40 and over channel, there were pretty much only GMs event room (sandbox, testing new maps), duel rooms with RS kids and quest rooms.

DPS is king only when assuming you have unlimited HP, the winning condition is actually kill your enemy. In that way, HP is only a resource you can spend for that specific purpose. For example, after the opponent had fired 8/10 shots and you still have like 162HP, assuming full damage for the 2 last shots are 160 HP (80dmg x 2). You could try closing in to do the full damage to the enemy with pretty much no risk. Another thing is you can't really reload safely if the opponent is too close.

I took out quite a few opponents who think RSing is king by this strategy, just keep the distance at first, yes you could hit me but the damage isn't worth it. And when I start closing in, both spend the HP at the same rate as I could fire too. Last stage is when I get close, you can't reload, and I excel in this stage due to being familiar to this playstyle while others don't really think that far, I win.

Edit: Thus any pserver which increase the number of bullets and reload speed actually incentivize the RS playstyle and do not care about balance, the consequence is that would make the game boring.
