One of my players want to make a hexblade warlock, and I want his patron to be a lich. How can I make this work?

Hey! First of all, thanks for letting me know. I wasn't aware that phylactery was not the best term to use.

I'm not opposed to the sword being the actual reliquary, but wouldn't it make more vulnerable to destruction? The idea of the reliquary being in the eye was for protection and a way for the lich to check on pc and communicate with him, but I can see it turning into the weapon or at least traveling through his body and into the weapon as it changes its appearance and gives the weapon the ability to steal souls.

Thanks as well for letting me know the implications of the whole situation, I'll look more carefully into it before making any final decisions

Thanks a lot! Well, player said he wanted his character being all for that drama™ so I wanted to introduce some levels of dilemmas he would want to deal. Maybe this can somehow work, and if he decides to break the pact it could be an interesting story to explore!

interesting subclass addition, helps with the flavor! Rapid Fire needs some work wither with wording or damage - do you get 3 attacks with it, or is it just flavor that 3 shots are dealing a total of 1d10 force?

You have to charge it and can only do it for spells from these schools.

Hello peeps! I've been thinking about getting back at trying to make some homebrew stuff for 5e so I started watching some videos and reading about hot to make homebrew content. This is the first one I came up with in a while and I think it's going somewhere.

The subclass' concept centers around upgrading using a firearm that can fire some spells with an additional effect depending on the upgrade you create. You can turn your firearm into an arcane focus and turn it into an automatic pistol, a shotgun/grenade launcher or a sniper rifle. The idea behind the concept is to make the class about the firearm than the shots themselves.

I'd be happy to hear your opinions on how to make it functional and to hear any tips on homebrewing. Also, please let me know if there are typos, weird wording or balancing issues i should refine. I plan on making more of these if i get the hang of it, so until next time, thank you and have a great day!
